Hello everyone,

as a big fan and passionated player of MWO I would like to distribute something to refine, expand and advance the game and its features and gameplay.

To start this I want to suggest three further match-modes together with some optional variations. The new modes aim at the more co-operative aspects of MWO and try to enhance the tactical depth of gameplay.

I am quite clear about the fact that game-mode is a hot issue and so I just share most humbly my creative input with the community. May be it starts at least a fruitful discussion.

Match-Modes suggestions:

1) Locate and recover!

Teams have to find some lost objects and bring them back safely.
  • a) - There is an uneven number of items (equipment), say three or five or something similar, to be recovered. Only team with a required minimum number of items at the end of the match can win. If both fail this its a draw. Victory points are awarded per item recovered. The higher number of victory points win the match.
  • b) - An information package is to be retrieved from a source located on the map (radar station, crashed vehicle, outpost ect.). Source must be target-locked and visual confirmed on close range (<30m) to download data. In the same way the data-package can be transmitted from one allied mech to another. Only one mech at a time can obtain the data package. Both teams have to download data from same source. Only successful recovery of data wins match. Therefore at the end of the match a mech who actually carries the data package has to survive.
  • c) - Several lost mechs have to be saved out of an area overrun by opposing forces. Once destination (hidden base, waypoint station) is reached some or all pilots have to change their mechs and use the mechs that are to be extracted throughout the rest of the match instead of their own. The price for this nasty exercise could be higher rewards in equipment or similar.

2) Move!

Instead of static hide-out manouvers this mode demands movement and mobility in a fast pace operation.
  • a) - The teams have to escort a vehicle savely to the designated extraction point and safeguard the operation till escort is successfully completed. Only if escort op is success a team can win the match.
  • b) - The teams have to breakthrough enemy-lines and escape safely through a extraction point behind them. Survivors reaching escape zone count for victory points. If no mech has reached one of the escape zones at match end its a draw.
  • c) - Teams themself start seperated in two groups. Start in different areas of the map. Groups have to make contact and visual confirme ID on close range (<50m) to establish radar/sensor up-link and communications.

3) Hold objective!

Instead of capturing opponents base or ressource points in this mode both teams have to secure and hold a strategic position for a minimum amount of time and at end of the match to win. The position to secure is choosen at random before each new match. To make the mode more difficult more than one objective has to be secured.

I hope the suggestions find your approval and help making the gameplay more varying.
