Hi,
I'm sorry my post may be a bit different from what the bug report should look like, but given the nature of the problem it is impossible to do that and say the message.

I had the strangest run in with a spider yesterday morning, around midnight PGI time. I've met a terribly playing player, probably a beginner, in his trial spider. He came up to me for 40 meters and stood still to shoot at me. My rvn-3l (3ML, SRM6+2) should have killed that spider in two alphas into the center torso. The target was standing perfectly still, and so was I. I fired my alpha at his central torso, at some 80 degrees angle. All weapons hit the spider, few missiles hit LT/RT, but most missiles went to the CT, as did all my lasers. He turned slightly yellow in armor and his % dropped by not even 5% to roughly 94-95%. Second volley had a similar result, missiles and lasers did hit him, but dropped his armor down to only 92% or so. He should have been dead by now, most of his armor was yellow. Then I ran back and forward again, again I fired at him at 70-75 degree angle and still very little damage cought him. Then I realised something was terribly wrong and went zigzaging, but in a few seconds I managed to get into position (roughly 50 meters) and fire again, this time the angle was higher, around 90 degrees or so. All my misiles hit him, while I was slightly on the move, my aim was perfect. At that volley the enemy dropped from some 90% to being cored, which was exatly the effect my weapons should have had since volley no.1. I couldn't kill him because he had help comming and I had to scoot, but it gave me some ideas.

I played many more games yesterday hunting spiders and I found out angling had some part in the damage spiders take. When I managed to get into "right" angle, though I'm not sure how much it is since I move at roughly 150 kmph. The point is, at some angles of fire the hitboxes of Spider work very well, while there seem to be some dead angles from which you can't hurt spiders well or the damage recieved is only marginal and the rest is soaked by some invisible barrier or something.

You may argue that ping may be the cause, but I had the same experience with ping 130 just as with 300. I was also killing spiders with ping ranging from 30 to almost 600, and the results were more or less the same. I was shooting spiders both standing still and running for their lives from front, rear and sides. Would there be a game mode that would give me the possibility of "hunting" my friend I would provide rather complex evidence on the case, but right now this testimony is all I have because I generally don't have time to print informative screens when running at top speed. So I leave that to devs to try it out. Also, if you have any opinion on this, similar or contradictory experience, feel free to add up.

Good experiment. Everyone knows something is up with it so hopefully this will bring us a little closer to why.
