[Myke Pantera]

Greetings fellow Mechwarriors,

I was wondering which Mechs you'd love to see integrated into MWO. I've taken all Mechs from the Technical Readouts (from the tabletop game) up until the year 3050, which haven't been released yet. Hopefully i didn't miss any. You can look them up at: http://www.sarna.net...chnical_Readout

Your choices may be based on the tabletop game, other mechwarrior titles, visual flair or whatever pleases you. You can choose as many per category as you like, although i wouldn't pick too many, unless you love them all that much ofc. I for myself have never played the tabletop game and no mechwarrior game since MW2, so my choices will be based on flair and the many classic battletech books i've read back in the days.

Clan mechs obviously got the most votes... Mad Cat being very favored. I personally favor the Daishi over all.

That one first appears in TR 3058, although it says production year 3049 on sarna. But with the LB 5-X AC this mech is clearly net yet available in the MWO universe, hence not on the list. But nice mech, i agree.

Jup, I expect the clan mechs to get the higher votings. Just curious how they'll balance them... tough task!!

So lets analyze the intermediate results:
== Lights ==========
1) Panther
2) Wolfhound
3) UrbanMech

I expected more Stinger/Wasp/Valkyrie votes, and didn't expect the UrbanMech to be up there. Is it due to the AC10 or simple because he looks like R2D2?

== Mediums ==========
1) Hatchetman/Enforcer/Crab
No BIG surprises there, except maybe that i expected more votes for the Griffin. AC10 seems to be popular again. LRM/SRM mechs don't seem to be favoured by medium pilots.

== Heavies ==========
1) Marauder
2) Warhammer
3) Archer
These damn beautiful unseen heavies. I thought the Rifleman will be 3rd instead of Archer, but he wouldn't add much to this game anyway since he's basically a Firebrand, and IGP modelled the Jäger as a blend of Jäger and Rifleman anyways.

== Assaults ==========
1) Zeus
2) King Crab
3) Mauler

All great mechs, but none of them with Jump Jets. All with a mix of Energy, Ballistics and Missile Hardpoints though.

== Omnimechs ==========
1) Madcat
2) Thor / Vulture

Exactly matches my expectations. Each of those heavy Omnimechs is iconic. MadCat and Vulture will be one of the toughest mechs to get the hitboxes right though.

Urbie. I just love that Mech, and with a 360 upper torso rotation-Its a mobile turret.

Warhammer. An all time favourite

Lb5X is a clan weapon. Most clan mechs use weapons not currently in MWO, because we are using archaic Inner Sphere weapons. The Cauldron Born is very much around, just very rare, during the invasion.

<Also the Griffin and Wolverine are already coming out this month so having them in the poll seems somewhat pointless.

Yeah clan mechs are the most fun and coolest looking...what we have now looks like {Scrap}. I dont like any of the mechs in this game except for the atlas. The rest just suck. It's to the point that I dont even like this game anymore without the mechs I grew up playing it's lost it's fun mostly.

needs a no vote option as I don't care or want clan mechs in game ( ohh i know they'll arrive) but I can't give a no clan choice so picked timberwolf as is just a marauder and catapult joined together and give over the top weapons bonues (in table top)

clan mechs suck and are, weak designs that are so generic, they make hawken mechs look good

I think there are many great IS mechs integrated in this game already, like the Shadow Hawk, which is my favourite. There are still a lot of awesome mechs missing of course, hence the poll to figure out what other players are missing. But many of the 3050 clan mechs are quite iconic i have to agree on that. The lack of hardpoints makes them a bit too generic for me though. Still I'm eagerly waiting for the Ryoken and Thor.

Some decisions about new mechs i don't understand though. Why release a flea when we already have the locust? I don't see much difference except for the MASC. I'd rather they'll integrate one of the 20ton jump jet mechs like the Stinger. Also i don't think the Wolverine has much to offer now that we have the Shadow Hawk already. But maybe the alternative versions will...

I agree on the generic issue, but i don't think they look bad. At least not all of them.

I couldn't vote for any of the Unseen, even though I do want to see them.

But yeah, Axman. I have the toy version released back in the early '90s when the Battletech cartoon came out. It was actually my introduction to BT. It just took me another, oh, 8-10 years before I figured out the connection between Battletech the cartoon, Mechwarrior PC games, and Battletech as a whole.

Becaused i only included the mechs that have been published until 3050, since that is approximately where we stand in MWO. Fafnir was introduced in 3063 and published in the Technical Readout 3067, so it is way ahead of our timeline. Also the ER Medium Lasers and Heavy Gauss Rifles it carries aren't yet included in MWO.

Well, i had to make a cut somewhere, and i chose to include all the mechs from Technical Readouts <= 3050. Hence no Cauldron Born.

Technically neither of them is released already, and I simply wanted to know how popular these two are, to see how wisely IGP chose them as next mechs to be released. I just think that they get less votes because of the fact that they are being released in 2 weeks, than they normally would.

Some of the options we know are coming, like the Griffin and Wolverine. The Flea they've been trying to get in, but I guess MASC is stuck in development hell right now.

The Macross based Unseen are unlikely, but stranger things have happened. Honestly, I'd rather see the Chameleon than the Phoenix Hawk, but the Chameleon does not have enough variants until the late 3050s.

I have the opposite opinion Darth. I always thought the Clan Omnis were the Ugly Mechs compared to the Inner Sphere's. Then again, I got into the Universe prior to the Clans, so I may be Jaded.
