They are not friendly and you dont even have a general thread where you can get the pulse of the game.

The feedback thread is called Com Star Focus Group, it probably sound nifty for a 20year lore vet and it's no wonder it's dead with months old topic. And unless you go through the extra step of clicking general discussion first before going to Com Star Focus Group you wont see the description, at least you realised that without a description you can't know what it's about.

You NEED a place explicitly called General where a noobie can feel confident to go ask for the thousand times" excuse the noob question but what are critical space?" etc etc and have a bunch of people telling him, redirect him and what not. If it looks tedius at first you made me realise it's the most important part of a forum and if youve ever played another game before you know comunity will be there to do the job. Also the noobie has lots of chances to right away see an answer without having to post or make a Search that gives you 2011/12 thread.

Mech and Loadout should be deleted, theres already Battlemech Guides with Light/Medium/Heavy/Assault sections. Idealy you would have a section for every Chassis like every other game have for their classes but Light/Medium/Heavy/Assault will do.

MWO in the News. You need to advertise to yourself? Usualy when another website of renown talks about you, you post it on the front page or the section where devs talk about whats coming for the game and general news and sneak peak. Unfortunatly you dont have such a section where dev comunicates about the futur and you desperatly need one.

Upcoming Feature. Oh wait you have one? why is it burried in general? It should be in Developers Corner. When you want to communicate with your customer(hell we are more than customers, we dont just buy your game we Fund it.)you want it big and in view. let go in. It looks like a suggestion thread.

You have 4 pinned thread(only?) and all started by devs(thats good). 3 of them have next to no writing, just links. Oh! the last one is about upcoming feature so let's check it out. More links that redirect you to other basic thread in the forum. Upcoming Content Tracker had some kind of info though most are link to link to links, why do i feel like an archeologist?

There is more but thats what i feel is most important right now. Yesterday it wasnt just the forum that felt dead but most game had difficulty to fill and many never did and started without 24man. You realy need to be friendlier so people are compled to share instead of quit. This is why i wrote this. The game is hard enough as it is for a new guy, if the forum is alien it;s not good. Thanks.

Gen Desc used to be a thing,

It became a wretched hive of scum and villainy, and thankfully is gone. The pages of useless QQ rants you'd have to wade through to anything even remotely useful was MUCH harder to navigate than the format there is now. The QQing is now spread out across a handful of forum, like so much manure on a lawn.

Im talking about making the forum more streamlined so they are easier to use, so people can find the info they need faster, they are dead for a reason right now because they are a ***** to use.

And about general being harsh on you... every other game and people have been using it since forever, youll survive though you might grow a thicker skin in the process.

Seems like a natural flow to me.
Training Grounds - How to use the forum and play the game
Developers Corner - Official information, the stuff you NEED to know, Announcements should actually be here.
MWO Universe - Discuss Developers Corner and such
Support & Feedback - Where to go when stuff goes wrong
etc...
Hierarchial information tree = common sense.

Lulz, you're new aren't you? I'm usually the one doing the mocking/trolling, to which, I'm looking forward to your future posting ;)

There was one particular game i recall (no name ;) ) where a game of tactics was becoming arcady. Over the course of time people became more and more unhappy and complaints were being locked again and again. In the end they removed general discussion completely and came up with a complaints forum that nobody read. Any negative post was a complaint and was in the wrong forum if it was anywhere else. It was a way of moving their current community on really, a way of saying we arnt interested, you arnt our target audience anymore.

I was doing a little digging via google about MWO and quite by accident i found the story of why there is no general. I cant remember how tho, if you really want to know search.

I was one of the annoyed when the Great Forum Purge took place, but once I got settled in to the new format I was fine, sure it might not be so easy for a newcomer but I know exactly where to go now for specific topics.

examples, I want to know some builds I got to the battle guides, I want to talk about weapons and other equipables I go to mechs and loadouts, if I want to talk about game modes and maps I go to that subsection.

I think it is for the most part streamlined nowdays.

Streamlined = General Forum / Dev Topics / Mechs

Three forums. That's streamlined. What we have is, well it's the exact opposite.
