Some pilot's nights are other pilot's mornings... I DO see a lot of forum posters ingame, but I don't think many people actually post as opposed to just reading.. Not long ago I saw a person with a Founders Tag post in a thread, and he only had 40 or so posts to his name, and I thought that was strange, the Founders Option ended long long ago, and only 40 or so posts.??

I think more pilots read, and less actually post. I never posted much in the EA forums for BattleField, it just didn't appeal to me to do so for that game..

I read a lot. Posting really isn't all that useful honestly. I'm not really a social type. I'm that unguilded max level wandering around on his own or filling in random spots in pickup groups you see in MMOs who never talks except what is required to coordinate, then vanishes after the dungeon/mission/task is complete. Variety of reasons why; I'm that way in life too. I show up, do stuff nobody else can do, then leave. I think I get paid as much for leaving as doing stuff though as I tend to unnerve a lot of people.

Only posted this because I wanted to beat your 40 post founder that had you so curious.

I think it doesn't hurt to give props to other pilots, too. I'm all about working toward creating a community of camaraderie and mutual respect. When I'm hauling tail across the map weaving in my spider and I take a hard hit to center mass.. I remember, and give props via text chat when I am able. If I get killed in some sort of spectacular way, I try to text chat out a congratulatory statement to whomever did it. And I screen shot reminders of people I want to friend later. It's worked out well - built up quite a network of buddies that way.

Look man, that feature is so 2008, you have to understand the developers are coding as if they are in 1988 and this is a MUD when it comes to chat and basic social features. Someday, maybe 10 years in the future the Dev's will find a way to allow /ignore or /friend from the chat window. Maybe 20 years in the future, one of the Dev's will have picked up this really new seldom known game called WoW and look at their chat interface and friend system to understand that gee players expect a WoW level of chat controls and friend options in today's game. I was completely shocked when the Dev's figured out how to use the Delete key in the chat window. They must have hired some genius from Outer Mongolia who could code that for them.

im not in a bashing mood today, but this made me chuckle out loud. One can only hope these guys are on the agile bandwagon and they do seem to have the ship pointed in the right direction. Just the pace is seemingly glacial.
Im trending towards, a few steps in the right direction and mwo really could start to realize its potential.

Gs was a far far more common sentiment in mw4 and mwll, but there are definitely MANY pilots who think the way you do.

If you play night after night, you know that active forum members really do comprise only a small fraction of the playerbase. Thats just the way it is. I see SO many great pilots night after night but its frustrating not to be able to grow and make the community more close knit with any kind of social mechanism.

I see FupDup like... every other game most nights... And for awhile I'd see Wispsy at least once a night... I've run into OdinsFist and OneEyedJack a few times as well... I could go on to, I see alot of Forum players... Heck I think one game had 3 people (besides myself) who are all forum regulars.

Even so, the ability to click on people within the interface to add them as friends to the god awful social interface has been needed for ages... Along with Lobbies... Oh and real voice comms... quick commands... This is going to be a long list... :)
