When I enter my username and password, I get this message. "A Network Error Has Occurred". Each time I have done so, the servers were online, so it wasn't during maintenance or some other down period.
In an effort to get into the game I have changed my password and reloaded the game, but to no effect. If someone could provide some insight, that would be great.

The servers may be online, but that doesn't mean that the route between you and the server cluster is problem-free. Somebody may have reconfigured something or taken part of their network down, which may have disrupted your ability to get to the game server cluster. I'm fairly certain there's nothing you can do.
I had it happen one time a few weeks ago. It was working fine during my morning game session, then after I got home from work it gave me that error. Others from my group were able to get in fine, but they are in different areas of the country. I knew my internet was working fine, as I could go to web sites (including the MW:O site) and even use TS3. Checked the game intermittently for a couple of hours, then gave up for the night. Next morning it worked fine, and haven't had any problems since. It wasn't a patch day or a maintenance day either. That was the only connectivity problem I've had since I started playing the first week of August 2012.

Thanks Durant. Yes, this has been troublesome, as it has been going on since last patch and is now a constant companion.

You may be having the same problem a few others had after last patch.
The solution for them was to change the DNS server address used by their network connection to 8.8.8.8 (provided by Google). You can Google how to do it.
The problem, cause and solution is also discussed in the following thread.
