MechWarrior Online Recommended System Spec:

I want to get at least a 680 to try on this game, but I have to wait and see what it looks like on a similar DX-11 setup before I make a decsion on getting brand new Video Card or Cards compared to the SLI setup I have running, "BUT" since I had already planned on new cards, it will just be a matter of which series to buy... LOL

According to Russ' replies in that thread, any quad core does great in MW:O. You should be fine with that CPU. As for the Video card upgrade, that has alot to do with what PSU you have and if it can handle the video card you want to upgrade to.

Depends on your definititon of "decent". By my definititon, simply put, no. $125 HD7770 is the least expensive video card I would call decent.
Your current PSU will not handle ANY video card that meets the requirments for MW:O. I would have reservations about trying to run a GT520 with it.
this PSU will allow you to upgrade your video card to something decent.

Your CPU looks like its a Q6600, if you have a Brand name Motherboard, the Q6600 overclocks very well, and you can easily take it to 3Ghz.

.
Then buy a newer Video Card, http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130625
.
or this.. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130610
.
If you realy plan on upgrading that is.... Then when you get a new motherboard, RAM, CPU, and H-D, you will be ready.. LOL

which is a cool $180 after rebate. Otherwise the 6870 offers better price for performance over more expensive 560 TI models. And the 7770 outperforms the 550 TI for about the same price.

Is an amazing deal right now actually, I wouldn't consider getting a 560 ti, or 6870 as long as this deal is going on since the 6950 will get you gaming performance close to the 7850 barring overclocks for $50 less. ($70-80 less including shipping savings). However if the 7850 is in your budget it remains the better choice because it's newer, more efficient, and has higher overclock space.

DAMN, $200 for a 6950, BF3, and Dirt 3. That like $100 or less for the 6950. VERY NICE DEAL.

wow, that is an unbelievable deal. i bought a 2GB 6950 over the holidays for about $260, and that was after a rebate. this one also comes with a $10 mail in rebate, so $189 plus 2 free games. if any of you newbies can at all afford this, this is the video card deal of the month.
fun fact: some versions of 2GB 6950s can be flashed into 6970s =D
mine can, but i haven't risked it yet, not until i need to.
