Happens all the time in pug matches. Usually I just go all beserk like and try to take one with me when it happens.

When I do get support from my team mates I'm usually surprised.

yep go all out and pray you cause some good damage, sad thing is when your team does decide to help it usually devastates the enemy team but 90% of the time your team would rather watch

I've said it before, but the difference between leading a charge and looking like Leroy Jenkins is simply if your teammates (usually PUGs) follow you.

I think my favorite example of this is I was playing with 1 friend, we had worn the team down fighting by the com ridge on Alpine, and I called for a charge. I then proceeded to lead just my friend in the charge, and died, and THEN the PUGs followed my friend onward to victory. We won that game 12-1 ;)

Everytime I see this thread I think of a zombie apocalypse, if you see everyone running you should probably run too.

mmmmmm... I love Atlai... They're like giant LRM magnets. Once I get LOS or they lose their ECM... all mine baby. Don't run. You'll only die tired and embarrassed.

been playing the trial blackjack and i think i like being small a lot more, the thing hits hard and can run away pretty quick so i seem to stay alive much longer doing a bit of solo work then jumping in to support when fights actually break out

Missile boats, they are great to panic the {Scrap} out of when you flank them in a Boar's Head. Love it when you alpha them in the rear armour and they have that wtf moment. Then boom, pop. Thats all she wrote.

Its swings and roundabouts, that all boils down to how good your team is. Without a team that backs your play, be it flanking or targeting for LRM's, your words are nothing but noises in the air. :P

On the flip side, plenty of D-DC Pilots who think that cause I have LRM's they can move slowly or stand still and then get but hurt when I manage to still kill them without tag using missiles, usually having taken out the ecm side torso with missiles first.

Here is an idea that i didnt see buy a light mech and remember this:do not be the one being shot. It will teach you to be aware of where your team is since that is the only way you can live.

Or when you're running a Multirole Catapult A1 and you charge them.

56 but yeah pretty much death every time and the worst part is that i draw all the dam fire anyway so there's no reason for my team to scatter and not at least open up on a few of them

Get used to it if you like assault mechs. Things might change if you are good enough to get out of the bottom end scrub/loser ELO brackets where I reside, but I've never been there so I don't know. It's only pixels, but most people are so scared of a death messing up their K/D ration that they will die cored through the back while running rather than fight and ohm'god maybe actually win the fight. I've lost count of how many times I've engaged to help so-called "teammates" only to have them run away as soon as I pull agro. Or I'll hit the flank and as soon as the enemy turns toward me, my side will scurry for cover and hide.

Pretty much this sadly

They don't want to die and their actions end up getting both their team and themselves killed, I've seen nearly entire pugs cower in mech humping sessions in a corner of the map while me and one or two others try to fight, only to watch the cowards die once someone decides its worth the c-bills to call in a arti strike.

In fact the last match I was just in (arctic map), I broke off from my team to draw fire from a long range group, pulled behind a ridge to dodge some lrms and got ganked by a quickdraw who spotted for the lrms, in a normal situation the Quickdraw out in the open like that would have been dead in seconds from crossfire from the team behind me - instead -all- of them opted to hide behind a hill and then spent the entire match hiding there getting picked off one by one, I'm almost certain that most of them didn't break 100 damage (left in disgust after watching them for about 3 minutes).

Don't know why its gotten so bad suddenly, it certainly wasn't nearly every 3-4 matches like this 2 months ago.

But yeah, try and keep with the group it won't save you or win the match, but you might have a chance to take a mech with you and shame your team after you die.

I honestly feel like herding cats is more efficient than attempts at teamwork with MWO PUGs.
