Wow. There is actually a topic just for this. Well, i'll also leave my little post here to make ppl know that we are many.

Catapult was (and is) my favourite mech of all time. I like the idea, i like the model, i like the texture, i like the loadouts. But after the jester update(o was it jester update?) It was enough for me to play like 2 games or so to sell all my pults because of THIS in order to not plunk my eyes out (i had x4SSRM2,x2SRM6 CPLT-A1). Watching 2 holes in those GIANT ears that could hold LRM20 was painful. Even more painful were another underear platform of 2 more holes of SSRMs. And a segmented 4holed and 2holed SRM6 platforms around that giant useless ear. After a few months i've returned and rebought CPLT-K2 and CPLT-C1 for it is still my fav mech and this update made them look cool with those double shotgun-like LBs and even giant LRM20 ears with SRM6 couldnt stop me.

Yes, i do understand that im whining about things that i dont like the looks of when its giant 65 ton walking machine of death and destruction and not 17m tall fashion model with pretty legs but:

1) I came to MWO just because i liked the looks of things and design of mechs. And i bought the full phoenix pack because i liked the looks of things there. And now this beautiful illusion of shinyness is brutally broken
2) Im an engineer (trust me), i like the realistic designs of MWO mechs even if i thought that all other MW universe mechs are ugly and weird. And thouse mech specialists that constructed those ears were like:
"-Oh, i wounder where we could put all those 20 LRMs, Carl? Maybe in this giant, taking 95% of mech volume, arm with "put LRM20 here" written here?
-Nah, we need to put SSRM somewhere. This will be perfectly optimized to put 2 holed launcher in giant arms that we requested for LRM20 the rest of that place cold remain empty. Or filled with heatsinks. And we can put LRM20 into 3 separate arms all around the arms we've got for LRM20. This will be the greatest engineering solution of entire universe right here!

I still feel the A1 could have used some internal structure for the arms in the quirk pass. Look at all that extra crap tacked onto the arms, it LOOKS like there is more there.

There would need to be more internal structure to prevent the arms from falling off due to the extra "girth" of the arms.

The arms are on very thick cylindrical pivots, they would be quite stout.

I have find this error in the geometry of the catapult you can see through the mech

Easily for launchers twice the size, it is a very robust method(and would likely have reinforced internal orbital gearing[for pivot control]).
