I plan to build a computer just to run this game solely on triple monitors.
im talkin dual quad cores and 32 gigs ram with triple ati's ..1 for each monitor.
yeah i do have disposable income ,at my age (40 fyi) and the yrs ive spent in a *** semi truck waiting for someone to make a mech mmo..
you're ***'d right im gonna waste a rediculous amount of money on a new rig..
***** you 17 yrs olds who are on an allowance..go back to wow and talk about the graphics there..
devs pls listen , do not dumb down this game or the graphics, give options for individuals to turn down certian features
but please do not do it to the rest of us.

Definitely include the low end, but also have the option to support the high end. People with quality machines should be given use as well.

Some people can't afford to drop the money for a new high end rig or desire to when merely turning down a few settings* or accepting certain limitations** allows hardware a year or two 'outdated' to run things perfectly fine. If you can afford the bleeding edge thats great but there's many others out there who are happy to settle for a bit less performance in exchange for a much cheaper cost. Of course its easy to say that someone else should do X because "its easy" but its rarely that simple in practice.

*The trend of huge max screen resolutions on 30"+ monitors driving high end video card sales being a prime example.
**Less then 60 FPS when your eyes can only process a fraction of that anyway.

so me running a 60 inch led as my main monitor on my ati is wrong?..sorry when i play cs and i zoom in the awp..i rarely miss heh.
actually , the human eye can process 16- 18 fps i think is the stat i read somewhere way back in the more popular days of old school cs.

FWIW even battlefield 3 can be played on a pretty low spec machine these days. You might be playing 720p, and you might be getting 30fps, but that's what consoles are doing.

I fully expect mwo to support fairly low end machine. OTOH if you have a laptop with a 2-3 year old integrated graphics, don't expect alot. Those were terrible machines for gaming when they were new.

The point of this is options; include the options to reduce draw distance, turn off dynamic lighting, remove scenery that is not tactical, etc...

Sure your tri-moniter home mech cockpit should look like planet battletech, but if they want money they'll also have a MASSIVE range of available fixes to reduce the game to it's bare basics, because they know damned well that many people will still play like this. In my case it doesn't matter; my laptop is an 8 Gig RAM, uber-card beast... mainly because I am trying to break into writing for gameing development companies(I don't mean code, I mean creative content. The stories and end-game concepts they come up with all reek of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Watchmen or the Godfather... it's shameful... don't let programmers write the stories in MMOs for gods sake... it's a story with NO characters... that's really really hard, GET PEOPLE WHO CAN ENGAGE THEIR AUDIENCE.... AGH! -END RANT-). I'm more concerned about the aforementioned people to blow up.

Agreed, but the failure rate of new IP is abysmal. You should see how many internal pitches get shot down. Oh and you probably have a better chance of getting something done once you're already working at a game company in some capacity.

Bah! Freelance all the way. All the game companies are shifting to bloody Canada anyway. That or Eastern EU... really good concept stuff coming out of peoples garages. Who'd have guessed.
