I get in a match last match and one Cataphact took out 2 jenners and a spider. Light mechs feel like tissue paper once armor is gone in like 2 hits all it take is one more shot to bring it down so 3 shots to kill a light mech around 35 tons. And the Locust is pretty sad cause I bought one and took one hit and instant dead and sold it it was trash. Are you kidding me I know lights are agile but come on now they should still be sorta solid but this is a joke. They might as well arm hand held laser pointers and pea shooters with toilet paper armor for as good lights are right now.

Please rethink durabilty on light mechs I'm not saying they should be tough as a atlas but come on 1-3 hit kills is a joke.

Lights are exactly that... Lights. Speed is their armour. I regularly pull 1 to 4 kills in my locus but you need to learn to pilot differently. A heavy should be able to rake out a light IF it can hit....the lesson is don't get hit. Sneak up from. By hind. Engage mechs already in a fight with others. I frequently kill inexperienced atlas pilots... They don't need a buff

It's well known by now that the locust unfortunately just sucks because its armor is nonexistent, but for the most part lights are balanced by their speed. It's not uncommon for me to get 200-300 damage with my jenner-7D with good matches being 400-500 and I've had very good matches with even higher damage.

As far as the cataphract taking out 3 lights, I imagine either the cataphract pilot was really good or the lights sucked, or maybe a bit of both.

I run lights and have taken the Locusts outs for some matches. Damage from weapons and collisions should be a concern for light mechs, and Locusts are very brittle, being the smallest, so I know it can be frustrating at times.

But we're in an okay place more or less, especially if the light pilot is crafty, opportunistic and lucky.

So, I think a big part of the problem is the high overall agility of the bigger mechs along with the amount of damage various mech builds can dish out in a short time where we could see some tweaks (depending on what the devs are looking at).

And in terms of light mech durability, what could be looked at is adjusting the height value for when fall damage is received so that those mechs can fall from a slightly higher point than what we currently have, it doesn't need much but a reasonable adjustment could help.

Yep. It's very much expected for lighter mech to be an easy kill for much heaevier mech, if the lighter one does not move out of harm's way. Just yesterday, i was doing a battle for double exp in one heavily armed highlander - 2xSRM6, 1xSRM4, 2xUAC5, ML and LL; and at some point, a shadowhawk - a medium mech, - popped out right in front of me, some ~100 meters, and stopped. Naturally, i fired all my weapons at it seeing it stopping, and everything landed. No wonder poor Shadowhawk just fell apart, pieces flying out and lots of smoke - 66 points of damage right in the face in just a second.

Several days ago, i was doing another battle, also for double exp, in one of my locusts. It was crimson strait. I had 3 encounters where i had more than 4 enemies being less than 300 meters from me at some point - and most of them firing at me. Most of my armor went red after this, but no cored parts. I was 2nd-last to die during this battle (was quite even match, but my team lost it in the end), did some spotting, did some damage with ERLL i had.

It's risky, true, sometimes that AC20 just flies in and cripples one's leg; but man, even in locust with its relatively easily hit legs, if the pilot runs some 150+ kPh, doesn't stop, doesn't get into point-blank range (except if from behind and when other friendlies make the enemy busy), and keeps turning all the time in an irregular pattern, - LOTS of enemy fire can be dodged. Should i be in above mentioned highlander, i doubt i'd survive even 1st of these 3 encounters (although in a highlander i wouldn't go that far alone, of couse). Amount of enemy fire wihch is needed to down a dodgy light pilot is definitely much more than amount of enemy fire needed to down a dodgy assault.
