It is beautiful. The larger torso and reduced waist make all the difference. Still has the Marauder "feel", but in a brand new beast.

We asked and you didn't disappoint, friend. Those feet look durable and strong!
I look forward to seeing this in the line up.

So I got a taste of the MWO fanart during the Halloween contest and decided to try getting it out of my system with the Marauder Redesign Contest
I tried to take as much of the previous feedback into consideration as I could, while still staying true to my personal vision of what I want to see on the battlefield. I know the cockpit will be a point of contention for some people, but I've grown pretty attached to the unintentional screaming face. I mean c'mon, it's like a constant battle-cry

Dude... awesome work on the Marauder... checked out your website too! Again, awesome! You deserve some serious kudos for your skills... probably a good paying job too! LOL!

Man, there's what a great turn out for the competition!
So here is the final image I submitted. I reformatted it to read better in the forum setting since the 16x9 pretty much crushes all the detail unless you take the time to zoom in.
...but I also updated the wallpaper size in case anyone was interested.

ok, that revision just got you my vote.
I'm still not 100% on the hip, and yet, that is part of what makes it distinct. So it's not so much that it's wrong as just very different from what my mind wants to think of a Marauder. Too bad for my mind because it works. Best revision i have seen of the MAD.

I see you have constructed your own marauder. Your skills are complete.

Haha, you guys are great.
Yeah, I almost caved and changed the legs based on the feedback I was getting, but to be honest, I don't think I would have been able to live with myself if I did. As much as I'd love to satisfy everyone's expectations, we all know that's just not possible, so I might as well make something that I want to see at least. I saw this as an opportunity to make something fresh that also combined the character of the original with the practical design sense of MWO, and with the help of everyone's feedback, I think I hit that goal at least.
... and hey, even if it is an unpopular choice, at least it's providing some option for people that might want to see something other than Cataphractapult legs

You are right up there with Shimmering Sword and Justin Nelson (AKA SloCat) tossed his hat in the ring. Justin did some of the art for the 3145 TROs.

Hands down my favorite of the MAD redesigns in the contest so far. You took little aspects of the SS TRO redesign, specifically the vents on both side torsos, but largely took an entirely new approach to the Marauder that has been sorely missing. Despite all the little changes that add up to a totally new look, it retains the FEEL of the MAD series perfectly.

Disagree.
His proportions are better than Shimmering Swords. And my opinion is always right.
