and why?

I'd add a poll, but they don't allow enough options.

For me, I gotta say ShadowHawk.

The Jager, Victor and Hunchy were all real close. The Cent not far behind that. But. The Jager and Cent and Hunchy lack JJs, and the VTR, much as I love it, just doesn't have the speed and mobilty that I crave. The Shad on the other hand is tougher than it has any right to be, can pack a wicked punch and is very mobile. It sorta is the epitome of a Medium mech in that it's versatility allow it to shine in almost any role.

And obviously it's impossible to even debate Clan Mechs, Fleas,, Griffins etc since none of us have driven one. So just the mechs available now.

Victor 9S hands down. Has just the right mix of speed, mobility and firepower to complement my playstyle perfectly.
Any variant of the Shadowhawk come's in a close 2nd for me.

I have not driven my Shadowhawks or Thunderbolts yet and have not piloted all the mechs in game. I have always been a fast heavy / medium fan. Ebon Jaguar was one of my favorites in MW3. I didn't play 4 but I believe it was there as well.

So if I had to chose one mech right now, it would have to be the Cataphract. Mainly due to always being an AC/20 fan and it has decent enough speed. I am guessing I might like the Thunderbolt as well because you can make it go faster but not have as heavy an AC. Also, the CTF has enough energy slots for some medium laser fun to go with an AC. Smallish side toros.

If we can pick a chassis, Jagers. If we had to be variant specific...my heart says the Firebrand, but my head tells me that I should go with the JM-A so I wouldn't get bored over the decades ;)

Before the Phoenix package I would say my Dragon, my most piloted mech. Now.. The Shadow Hawk. Hands down. Just so good..

Hunchback. With all the variants - you can do several different things. And I like how small it is for a med.

If I had to choose from the available mechs NOW:
AS7-D(F)

If I could choose from the Mechs that will be:
GRF-1N(P)

Edit:
I forgot the "and why" part.

AS7-D(F) - This mech has 100 tons (90 tons) to play with. It has every weapon type, the most possible armor, can run either single heatsinks OR double heatsinks, doesn't require endosteel, but simultaneously can benefit from it. CT energy hardpoints make this mech able to swing back even minus both left and right torsos, and the unique geometry, as well as the faded paint job make it the downright most sexy 100 ton mech on the battlefield. Currently it lacks the updated geometry as well, only adding to its sex appeal.

GRF-1N(P) - The Griffin is my favorite mech OF ALL TIME thanks to Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Revenge. http://www.sarna.net...t_Hawks_Revenge
I always selected the Griffin as Jason Youngblood's starting mech and it has served me well.

That is a really hard question. I love the Cataphract (have yet to try the 3D), Victor-9K, Highlander-HM, Shadow Hawk, and Catapult but I plan on piloting the Timberwolf in the future. Cataphract (either Ilya or 3D) probably for current mechs, Timber Wolf when it became available.

if there was a JJ version available, I probably woulda stayed true to the Hunchies. the Twist mobility on them, and their size just favors a pilot minded fighting style.

For the adrenaline rush, it's hard to pass up on my TDK. But I'm tempted to go with my D-DC.

I don't want to say the Shadowhawk since it's new and that's might be the reason why I like it so much...but it has to be the Shadowhawk.

It's a great mech that is also well rounded enough to give me my fix of each of my favorite roles.

CPLT-C1(F), because it's the prettiest. Failing that, Raven 4X because it's the prettiest light mech with jump jets.

My Dragon. If I was forced to choose, I'd even go with the -1n over Flame. There's just something inherently awesome about going >100kph in a heavy mech.

Victors, perhaps the 9B, though I'm also fond of my dragon slayer, the AC20 still beats it out. I do love the new Shadowhawks, they play like mini-Victor's on meth, however try as I might I don't consistently rack up the scores like I do in the 9B.
