MWO could always make the make up of lance ,premade or PUG's,1 light-1 medium-1 heavy-1 assault . This would help with the balance of the premade vs PUG's , because the premade could not bring 4 of the same class mech and would make them bring a balanced lance. ELO could still be applied before or after team set-up in lobby and 12vs12 would be more balance because they could only bring(hard set) 3 lights-3 mediums-3 heavies-3 assaults. Let get away from a bundle of 12 mech plowing into the other 12's , make the weight classes be made to played.

In nature, the wolves prey upon the weak and sick members of the herd.

Hmm.

That's an option but how many players would that alienate?
How many people only play specific mechs?
How many causal premades play what ever they want, be it 4 spiders, or 4 Catapults?

Until that wolfpack packs more than 1 ECM in which case your "5-streak2 Kintaro" becomes "pack lunch"...

Even tonnage limits won't solve it...

Devs earlier hinted at 220ton drop weight floor for 4-manz.

Kong called it the 55ton meta where 4-manz will wolfpack with all the new 55tonner mediums...

Seriously this game needs PVE to separate all this whinging over nothing...

As a person who has been running streaks on everything I play for months now, this is hardly ever a problem. Even against 2 or 3 lights with ECM, it's difficult for them to maintain the required tightness to block out my BAP. Target lock happens so fast that I just need a brief window where one mech moves just a little bit too far from his buddy and then I alpha strike.

AMS is the real killer, but fortunately most lights are too greedy for DPS and they drop it.

Stop trying to force players to play the game you want. Not everyone will play this game how we want. So improvise adapt and overcome.

They have said they want to make groups of players have a maximum tonnage limit, not sure what that number will be but hopefully it'll be something good. Definitely better than arbitrarily requiring one of each chassis, that just doesn't work well because they are all different speeds.

yay, another thread on how teamwork is op. The most common advice given to light mechs is "stick together and hunt in packs" So no we're saying that a light lance out scouting and taking down those stragglers is a bad thing?

Ugh....

How about you stick with your group and stop asking everyone else to limit how they play the game so that it makes it easier for someone else to win?

This thread makes me miss rolling Fastback packs in closed beta. OP, you would have messed your britches facing 8 115kph+ 4p's without ghost heat.

The real cure to a light mech wolfpack is 4 highlanders or heavy brawlers that stick close enough together to cover one another.
