People will hate me for saying it, but maybe we should just leave the unseens... unseen? A lot less conflict that way.
There are a couple problems with this:
First, the "Unseen" haven't been "Unseen" in over a decade, except for stubborn grognards that won't let go of the old licensed art. The TT has clearly moved on and continued with new designs for these mechs. (I'd even say they're slowly getting better with their iterations, which is something you can do when you're not licensing your art from an outside source)
Second, denying anything but the "original art" denies the entire playerbase from having a visual representation of these mechs in a videogame ever. That might be acceptable for a pen and paper game where you can just use your imagination with a piece of paper that has a bunch of stats on it (which is what the TT community did before TRO:Project Phoenix came out), but in a video game it can't exist without a visual representation.
These mechs are too important to the history of this game (lore and actual history) to just ignore and pretend they don't exist. They need a visual representation. That visual representation needs to be different than the original art. The old community needs to let go of those images or else the new community members will never know of these 'mechs outside of some apocryphal texts. We have to move on and continue with some new designs for these mechs.
