In the cap-warrior scenario this would mean that unopposed speed-caps would actually change the capping mech (s) into "traitor" mechs now fighting for the team they where rushing at. And the closest defending mech would switch sides to counter this.
It would be a balancing out system that would inevitably lead to a duel of the last two surviving mechs.
Fun all around and lots more battle injected into the game.
Edit: team kill would still be bad, of course.
