I, for one, love the constant appeals to rhetoric about the "poisonous community". From what I've seen, the only poisonous elements in MWO, appear to be those who are QQ'ing about how other players are "driving new people away" and "alienating them".

The only people who can "drive new players away" from this game, are those who work at PGI and IGP. And they're doing a fine job of that, all by themselves.

The players... the communities, the units, and <gasp> the "evil premades" are what are bringing new people in, and retaining new folks. If this was all "lone wolf", "casual" and "solo" players, this game wouldn't have made it out of beta.

If name and shame wasn't an issue id have some fun screens for you guys! Many of the people I see in this forum day to day have some really awful in game attitude problems. Part of why people react so negatively to preforms is the way they treat other players in game.

It usually starts with LORD (insert name here) GGCLOSE (which in and of itself is very cute, its kind of like a trollish male cheer squad)

After this it doesn't stop.....

throughout the match if they do well they trash talk and berate the enemy team, if however they are losing they switch to team chat and berate their own team. (I take screens every time I see it, especially with the so called "elite" players who are supposed to be above this sort of thing)

Most of it is vulgar, some of it is racial or sexual. When this happens its always out of line, and in keeping with terrible sportsmanship / no honor.

Im not going to pretend I am a model citizen where MWO is concerned, ive done my share of bitching in game (which I have promised myself to stop doing) but the dark light in which many players view preforms is self-cast by preforms not solely generated from inexperience or some over-inflated sense of self worth.

Now this is not all preforms, its only a small percentage. Most preforms are not even known quietly slipping into the game or perhaps calling their signs and offering only a O7 GLHF and GG to the chat pane before going on their merry way.

But then there are the others, many of which frequent this forum every day, who will post as if they have the right to point fingers and say "you there.. your the problem with this game!" where if they wanted to see the problem with this game all they would have to do is look in the mirror.

My advice for many of the "group" players here who are tired of being vilified by the player base is...... take your own advice, try to act like you have a sense of honor and by the Flying Spaghetti Monster's holy tentacle STOP TROLLING NEW PLAYERS AND BADS YOUR NOT HELPING THE GAME WITH YOUR PUBLIC MASTURBATION!

I think we can chock it up to some people just need parental supervision when on the interwebz.

Thats true, and im not sure as to the proportion of troll to non troll but it seems to be pretty equal in group or solo play. Just funny because many of these same people will come back to the forums and feign ignorance as to why people hate groups hehe.

I would love to see a block global chat option or perhaps a GM'able ban global chat for people who want to be uber trolls. Some people really shouldn't roam the internet.... spewing molten hot garbage and such.... harming the environment... you know......

Sorry but your arguments defy logic unless your in a 12v match which most of you never do. That tells me your arguments are only fear driven. You like the pedistals you ahve created with the advantages it brings. Thats why the gamg banging goes on here so you can continue it on the feild. We know who the real good players are. They fight as well in any envroment and are not afraid of change. I would suggest instead of posting to defend your postions instead actually grow a pair and get PGI to run a cycle with no premades. Everyone pug, everyone level. Lets see for real who the best individual players are?
