Disconnects should not be counted as dead

Picture it
A resource game
My team 700 points, 2Mechs left, 4 blue bases
Enemy team 300 points, 7Mechs left, 1 red base

One of my team mechs gets killed in the enemy base, surrounded by the enemy team.
The other team member is sitting in our home base undamaged

Easy victory, no way will the enemy team be able to take the 4 blue bases in time or make it all the way over to kill the last mech before the 700 +50 = 750 points are earned.

WRONG

The last mech is a Disconnect, and counts as dead, even though he is undamaged. If he had been a connected mech and just sat at our base like a BOT, we would have won!

This is entirely unfair, not only did we have to play an entire game a man down but instead of giving us a living do noting dummy we are given an automatic dead mech to add insult to injury.

Disconnects happen I accept it, but the enemy team should still be made to kill them to win, at least, even if their a sitting duck.

No. Disconnects within 1st minute of game should be replaced by someone.

Folks will be able to reconnect eventually, but untill then,it make more sense for them to count as dead. Otherwise, a player could hide somewhere, power down, disocnnect, and still help his team win, and forcing players to hunt a DC (start or later) is just silly. Beyond that, it then becomes unfair when a player "Derps" (disconnects where the mech keeps walking straight) and walks off the map rather than simply disconnects.

No, DCs as dead makes the most sense. Otherwise, in your scenario, a team with a DC player winning because of the DC is ludicris and will cause screaming to no end.

No, for 2 reasons:
1) The ability to reconnect coming soon™!
2) Do you want to be the "late commer" who's either a minute behind his teammates to get into the battle, or spaws mid-battle (one minute is a lot of time on River city) and gets shot before he can get his bearings? The late spawn is unfair to the person coming in late, and doesn't even work in 12v12 if they get a DC (Unless you want to drop a single pug into a 12v12 match)
