Leg mounted weapons mounts are an awful idea by any standard. We had a hard enough time in FPV trying to figure out if our arms were over the ridge line enough to hit the target. Putting them on the legs would make it difficult to get clean shots in uneven terrain.
Plus the obvious problems of the gimbals trying to keep the gun on target with the legs moving around.

The first one that comes to mind for me is the http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Gunslinger which as I recall had twin rear mounted MPLs in the legs.
The Gunslinger isn't in MWO. Next.

I stand corrected on the Cicada's MGs, I had forgotten they were leg mounted. The Victor 9A1 and Gunslinger are NOT in MWO, so neither contradicts me. Leg mounted weapons are rare in TT, and the only ones I normally can think of are the Gunslinger and Crusader.
And the Viking (it has two on each knee).
