Dear PGI, you just nerfed the appearance of one of the most gorgeous looking 'Mech in the entire MWO. The two giant lightning cannons on the shoulder are the signature features of this variant. It's like the mare of a lion, the trunk of an elephant, the song of a humpback. IT IS MEANT TO BE.

Besides, is the appearance rework really necessary? It's not like other weapons have unified appearance on different chassis. AC2 is definitely shorter when installed on an Atlas than on a Jager. And just look at a Highlander's LT when you install two SRM6s in there.

GIVE ME BACK MY GIANT PPCs!! K2 4 LIFE

Yes! The torso weapon changes are awesome (though maybe increase the size of those PPCs too?) but the old PPCs should be back! And I think the Missle changes should be changed considerably.

By that I mean that there should be visual change for different missles, but it should just be the missle tube count under the hood that really changes.

I agree with all my heart. When I saw the first pictures of Catapult before I got to closed beta I could not sleep the following night. I could only wish it looked like that ingame (I had not seen 'Mechs since MW4) and I wondered how on earth did they manage to hit the spot in such a detail! It looked so amazing I fell in love with the chassis immediately.

Only just couple weeks ago I paid attention on what weapons look like and equipping PPC didn't bring any "Oh H*** yeah!"-feelings :) All energy weapons look pretty much the same. Missiles are what I expected and ballistics stand out enough.

(A Little sidenote, there's also something wrong with the overall scales of 'Mechs. For example, SHD is quite a monster and looks more like a heavy than medium. Catapult is somehow heavier-looking than Stalker. Lights are random as well)

Look, PGI, you can't just change what makes K2 a K2 because most people carry lame ballistics on it. I always carry PPC/ERPPC on it. It's a matter of honor!

I have to agree with this as well. This was the first mech I bought, and I always considered it to be the best looking mech in the game. The new ppcs, while not horrible, are a definite downgrade (visually) from the previous version and I really don't see why they were changed at all. They already had different art for ppc/lasers/empty.

There was some indication that they were reworking the missile boxes for the other cats. Hopefully, a) that actually does happen, and  they revert the K2 ppcs back to the original artwork as well.

The only concern I can see with this is whether the weapon size affects the hit boxes. It could be that the ppc size was normalized to reduce the size of the weapon hit box on the arms which would likely increase the survivability of the weapon/mech. The PPCs in the image of the OP stick out quite a ways ... likely making them easier to hit from any angle.

So ... in a trade off of form vs. function ... do you prefer a look that makes you easier to kill?

Also, I've fitted both PPCs and laser to both the K2 and Jester and although the PPCs are shorter now they still look quite good in my opinion.

ppc arms matched the awesome ppc barrels and all was well.

then we were alowed ppcs in stalkers and we said it's silly as the mech wasn't made for it you'll get into trouble.

but people whined my customisation! so we had the following ppc metas folowed by changing of the art to let more stupid customisation reign

your k2 ppcs were shrunk so they matched the locust carrying ppcs. because muh customizes!

now if hardpoints had crit slots to limit the mech designs to what they're supposed to carry and add more hardpoints so they can stack a bit chassis roles would have meaning and shadowhawks wouldn't ac20 up and make hunchi redundant like raven ppc makes panther redundant and other new MONEY MAKING mechs.

for now why awesome when you can stalker
why victor when you can highlander
why cicada when you can jenner. and so on and so on.

sorry buddy but the "muh rambo ballistics" group says you're on an island. they want their gunz and don't care if yours are screwed... or the point of the IP's illustrations/ no omni mechanics for that matter.

During my entire run of K2 since late-2012 CB I've had my K2's Arms shot off for like ten times. If you're playing against a slightly better crowd they would usually go for your large CT, large Legs and large Head. There're better ways to bring down a K2/Jester that disarming the arms first.
