Laser Anti-Missile System is not to be confused with Land Air Mechs Its a anti-missile system that uses energy instead of ammo but generates heat. Laser Anti-Missile System I think it would be a great addition because instead of one type you have 2 both with its pros and cons. LAMS uses no ammo but generates heat per shot but AMS uses ammo and you have to deal with having the extra few tons to have enough ammo for it.

Only if it came with a toggle switch, wouldn't want unnecessary heat for lrms that are not coming near me.

True but it doesn't hurt to suggest it for the clan pack arsenal does it now?

Also Ferro Fibrous is an exception right? Inner sphere should have it because they lost it in the Succession Wars.

There was a hell lot of tech lost in the wars, Ferro fibrous, endo-steel hell even Double Heat sinks was lost for a time. but part of that tech was recovered with the Helm memory core.

All the tech we have now was available to the IS just prior to the clan invasion (it may not have been prevelant, but it was there), and we're missing MASC and Triple Strength Moyamer (MASC is coming, not sure about TSM, which might have issues given the current heat system) and maybe a few other minor items.

This was clan exclusive till later, so it's not likely to show up till later. And that uncontrolable heat penalty could be a problem.

Uncontrollable? There could always be an off switch for it. I just felt that if people are going to boat lrms then you should have atleast one ams that dosnt use ammo.

Untill they give us an off switch, it's uncontrollable. Even if they do, the LRM spam could cause massive heat issues with this depending on how they make the heat work.

I am aware of this and this is why it shouldn't be effected by ghost heat. I would say for every 10 shots gives X amount of heat depending on a few factors 1. How much heat efficiency it has 2. What is the environment like and the rare 3. depending on how many you have on your mech.

We should definitely have this. If only because the clan version would be 'CLAMS'.

Screw the timeline. I'd like to see a lot more weapons and equiptment to configure my mechs. IMHO only hardcore TT or MW fans are discussing something like the timeline or fraction/clan-based availability.

This would be good for light mechs that have to use the minimum 10 heatsinks and have heat capacity to spare instead of tonnage. A buff for COM and LCT wouldnt hurt.

Lams(laser anti-missle system)should be given ,i am sure that a lot of people would rather have heat issues than ammo at least with heat it cools of and does its job again and again. It would be sad if they did not add it to the game.so far i like the game with one exception ecm.so maybe in time they will add it .good job so far pgi.

If I remember correctly, the laser anti-missile system was part of the basic items for Mechs in the old books. Ah, the memories. :)
