The original seismic range was undeniably absurd. Its current range is perfectly reasonable, I think PGI found a good trade-off between functionality/limitations.

However, the stand-still nerf makes it nearly unusable. The only situation that makes it mildly useful now is when you're capping. Otherwise there aren't too many situations where it is advantageous to stand completely still. If the stand-still rule is here for good, this thing desperately needs a buff.

My two ideas to make it worth the 15,000 GXP again while adhering to the new stand-still rule...

1. Increase the seismic range back to the original distance.

or

2. Keep everything thing the same with one exception, that seismic info is "shared" with teammates so everyone can see the seismic blip.

Keep in mind I'm not suggesting both, but one of these absolutely needs to be implemented.

I agree with #1, when I first heard they wanted to make it only work when standing still that was the first thing I said, they need to put it back to 400m to make it worth taking again.

I think both should b done.. but let the command console buff/upgrade it.. it would increase the range back to the original distance, and share the info if u have the command console installed.. this way it make the use of a useless 1slot 3ton item that no one uses also..

No. Seismic is a wallhack that deserves no place in the game without significant drawbacks. Standing still is an excellent nerf.

I have to say it's in a good place. Still a wallhack, but with the limited range and having to stand still, it is no longer overpowered or mandatory.

It lets you scout caves without even entering and risking damage, what more could you ask of it?

I'd rather they simply drop the price of the mod and refund folks the difference.

I still find it quite useful, but no longer required equipment. It helps protect bigger mechs from being flanked, helps scout mechs if they stop for a moment, and it's pretty instantanious when you're still (or near still, moving at less than 10% appears to still work fine).

That said, the balistics additional nerf isn't needed. Leave it alone.

I think it needs to wait a little longer whilst standing still before activating.

Seismic is fine. Over-dependence on it needs a nerf.

Nice try but the Seismichater get what they wanted. Seismic is useless now. Everytime i read "wallhack" from haters i think: "ever played the old Mechwarrior title where Radar was nearly like a real Radar and u only could avoid it with shut down or passiv radar?" But hey MWO is different and many fps fans dont like it when the enemy knows where they are.
We wont see a buff for the seismic after a nerf....sooo, it is now only a waste of C-Bills and GXP

How is this a wallhack? It gave a small red blip on the minimap. It didn't give loadouts, weight class, armament, it just said "something is circling that rock there. You are gonna crest into something right over the ridge" Emphasis on right there. I never saw it work out to 400 meters though, maybe I just didn't realize it. Now the range is somewhat reasonable BUT to stand still as Medium or Light is a death sentence. A module is suppose to enhance and improve not hinder and disable.

I recently grabbed this for my lights about 2 weeks before the "nerf". It was not overpowered. It was strategic and USEFUL as a more endgame high cost master level module. Now it is useless in my lights, and only useful while capping in my Mediums.

It was a required module. No other modules adds enough to make it a must have, they're all situationally useful for certain builds. Now seismic is too.

Make it a deployable module like the UAV and have it transmit its data to the entire team to enhance information warfare in the game.

So it would be exactly like the UAV..... then why have a UAV?

I'd only agree to letting 100 ton mechs be picked up at the original 400m, while 50 tonners are at 250, lights at 200, or something like that anyway.
