Spend Engineering Resources On A Console Port For Ps4 And Xbox One

Since you supposedly like suggestions ... this is one you have probably already looked at internally.
Xbox One and PS4 have both a PC architecture and high performance graphics. Its should be relatively straight forward to port MWO to the new consoles. All you need to do is spend some resources on upgrading the code to deal with console controllers.
However, you will probably need UI2.0 to support the basic features that console users will require in terms of lobbies, chat services and and other player interactions.
In addition, you might need some more engineering resources in order to still get your planned upgrades out the door in a timely fashion.
Anyway, high performance graphics consoles could be a significant MWO market and cash flow opportunity waiting to be tapped ... (depends to some extent on how the sales of next gen consoles go ...)

None of that is necessary for a console game. Why would MWO need to be "dumbed down" to run on next gen consoles?

Is it seriously that difficult to download and use a free 3rd party VOIP program? There are Teamspeak servers for every faction and even for Lonewolves.

Two words... the players.
Since the advent of the console market, the quality of PC games has been in rapid decline to accommodate the players and cross-platform integration.

Where is your puny controller, now?
As far as porting goes, they already lack the human resources needed to keep this game running at a healthy rate, let alone have them make stupid ports on a completely new system with Microsoft dictating the rules.

The console players could get a simplified 3PV mode, and a separate match queue. The issue here is with limited development resources, not feasibility.
