Wow. Tough choice for me.
Out of those, the HBK-4G is my favorite single model.
That said, the VTR chassis overall in all 4 versions is just one of the best mechs in the game, bar none. There are two things it doesn't do well: Scout and Tank. It is the best flanker/Scrapper in the Assault/Heavy bracket, because it can carry the firepower of an Atlas, but has the Mobility of a Cataphract 3D, whilst carrying notably more armor than any heavy, and it's giant Centy arms allow it to tank damage surprisingly well, making it ideal for XL engines.
Twist and shout, and it does amazing things. The biggest mistakes I regularly see people do on the chassis are 1) Neglect the BFG, 2) Over or Under Engine it 3) Remove the JJs (max them out FFS) or try to LRM boat with them.
The VTR is a mobile infighter, than needs a high alpha to survive. Keep it in the 70-75 kph bracket (340 and 350 xls are the bread and butter of the Victor), mount big ballistics, and good energy on the other side, and add SSRMs or SRMs for infighting. You pretty much cannot go wrong.
The other choices can indeed be good MEchs, but Jenners...well to my mind you either ARE, or are not a Light Pilot. Real success does not tend to come to dabblers. (not counting people who just take advantage of borked hit detection). The Hback is a great little mech, but if you had issues with the Shad, I don't see how a slower, less versatile non jumping version of the mech will benefit you.
And overall, aside from the Champion BJ, the other roles, the BJ tends to be mediocre. Some people, like any mech,
can do well in them, but in general they are a lackluster design.
