So, if all my systems are nominal, why do half my screens say Autodetect : No Signal?

Wait for occulus rift support. Then a lot of what you see on the HUD can be put onto those acreens instead.

Why would VR goggles be a requirement to make view screens work?

These screens have been on the "low priority" development list since closed beta. I don't think they'll ever get around to putting something useful on them :P

Personally I'd be happy if they just put at least some other static image (some of the other panels (at least I believe) static monitors that show armor or ammo count.

Hell, it'd be neat at the least if there was some static radar or other sensor info and if your in range of ECM, they all turned to static.

I think they should at least open these up as "configurable images" - so you basically pop whatever graphic you like into a folder on your PC and it appears there. Kind of like CS/TF2 sprays.

On another thread I also suggested maybe they could even advertise on there - strictly opt-in only - in return for low level MC returns (Max of 5 per day as long as you play 5 matches?). Play for two months with adverts you get a Mechbay - seems fair.

If they want to get serious I suggest maybe some rear-cameras (once you have the Module...), only show seismic on the monitors instead of map (a mini nerf but maybe improve range again), a "UAV view", Mine detected warning (when we get Mines obviously)... that sort of thing.

One of the main reasons I think they haven't done anything here is the potential performance hit. There are still (a lot it would seem) folks out there running on coal-powered machines where every frame is valuable...

Well, it wasn't in the Helm memory core, so I guess our hope lies buried deep within the New Dallas memory core :P

Very early client back in closed beta had armor displays, actuator displays, ammo displays, heatsink displays, and one other that I can't remember off the top of my head.

They removed/stop developing the screens because the information provided did not help the pilot because of the UI and other higher priority developments needed (basically everything).

it will be cool once they get this sorted out. especially if they have oculus rift support *drools*

also not for nothing but i think it would be neat to have on those screens say you drop with a lance of 3 of your buddies. well have a webcam of their face on there like in the mechcommander series, obviously it wouldn't work with strangers because i know i wouldn't want to look at any of you but my friends is a different story and would be neat if kind of pointless :P

You can soon buy cat gifs to be displayed on those screen with MC. Only 2500 MC for grumpy cat vs. little bub.
