Surrender is not an option! (As of the moment anyway)
ROFLStomps happen. It's a fact. They happen for a variety of reasons, predominately lack of team coordination. And more often than not, a steamroll ends with one or two stranded guys facing an armada.
From that point on there are two possible outcomes. Either the stragglers throw themselves into the meatgrinder and inevitably die, or find a place to hide and shut down, hoping to keep their life, while the other team *still wins*.
Option one - you die with no obvious purpose. Option two - you take up the time of up to 23 other people who are ready for another match (with no purpose other than to save yourself a D).
So why not put in a toggle for "surrender"? If all alive players opt to surrender by a unanimous vote, the game ends. This is a military simulator, more or less, and surrenders do happen in the military.
Tack on a "surrender salvage bonus" to the winning team, and nobody should be upset, I hope.

Thing is your not wasting anyone's time. They can disconnect and start another game immediately in a diff mech with no penalty if they are dead. Surrender would be a cool option esp if it influenced (negatively) your loyalty points against a house in cw.

Oh yeah, sticky note this **** PGI. Working for a Merc outfit or a House and surrender to save your mech hides and cash hoarde? It will cost you in standing, and decrease the pool and profit of missions you get for a while.

Well it's cannon to allow defeated mechwarriors to leave the battlefield so some sort of surrender option makes sense to me. Even if captured Mechwarriors were simply ransomed back to their faction.

In this game leaving the battlefield equals surrender, since 'Mech destruction has no effect on how much you make. Just go out of bounds. Sure your 'Mech dies, but nobody gets a kill for it.

As long as the other players gets to decline your surrender option and then get to proceed with the hunt.
