It might be fun if flamers could be targeted on a component to overheat and explode the items held there.
example: a lot of us keep ammo in our legs. Might be fun if flamers targeting a specific leg for x seconds could ignite the ammo like a critical hit
OP? maybe. Sometimes flamers are so fun.

That would make them OP because if you put that flamer on light it is going destroy every mech it attack

Yea it happened! Was running the missile variant battlemaster and some ankle biters started flamering. Seemed to explode like 5 seconds later. Thought maybe something like this was already in game.
Related question: mech heat CAN explode ammo, right?

Mech heat gives no penalty other than shutdown and post shutdown damage in this game.

Another old post...Its on the issue of flamers exploding ammo...I think they should, but only if they have destroyed the foes armor first.
