While I like the HUD's design, I'd like to see a minimalistic version, too.

Two ideas I got, which would clear the center:

• Move compass ( A ) to the top, beneath score/timer
  
• Remove eye-candy lines in center ( B ), move zoom/view mode indicators above the minimap
