Does anyone have an accurate, up-to-date mechbuilder site? Or do you have many of the numbers memorized.

I want an Atlas that has two Shotgun ACs and two Large Lasers, those will be my weapons no matter what. With those weapons, how much ammo, armor, and what engine do i use. Should i use ferro/endo/doubleHS?

Need some help here!

http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab is your erstwhile friend.

I'd recommend the AS7 D-DC for the above - this is what I came up with, for your stated constraints. If you drop the LL to Mediums, I got this. Adjust engine sizes as you like for heat sinks and so on.

Thx for the links, so yea LLs dont work, decided to go for mediums using XLs and all spec systems except artemis to save tonnage for heatsinks and an STD 360. 75 shots on two shotguns plus some backup mediums! My atlass will be dishin out DMG (once i get about 20 mil c-bills :/)

While hardly 'optimized' in the usual sense - thought I should share my atlas build - lot cheaper than one mounting a full engine, and still competitive (at my ELO of course ;))

In general you really want to avoid using an XL engine in your Atlas. It will drastically reduce its effectiveness.

The first thing I aim for is the RT on an Atlas. Nothing else. As you know, if you blow that torso, you're done if you're riding on top of an XL.

As an Atlas, your job is to soak as much damage while dishing out as much punishment as possible while providing mobile cover for other glass cannony 'Mechs. Using an XL is going to make you a 100-ton scaredy cat--we don't need those!

Well, at least that's how I organize my lances to operate. YMMV in pub matches.

Awesome explanation!
