I only ever bought Premium when the timer was already running. If this is not the case and I buy Premium time...is there still the option to activate it when I want to, or does it start to run right away?

Thanks in advance.

I think they need to have the option to use 1 day at a time. As far as I know, if you have none or have none being used, then when you buy some it sits till you activate it.

Starts right away.
The only time you have an option to "activate" is when it's Premium time that wasn't directly purchased (Founders/Phoenix or any of their promo's they've had)

This should alos include the upcoming one day of premium time granted after the upcoming patch.

Using up 3-4 day premium day would worth PGI a lot more than 1 day or not having it at all i dont mind not useing up 1 or 2 day from it.
i really wanted to use premium time for a few weekend but i dont have the time to play a month all day long. Probably i would have used up half of my sitting premium time, and thinking to get some more! Its nice to have it.
I do want to have a lot of premium time when the clans or CW comes in. if i woulddnt have enough i would buy some but i just going to wait till then and activate it when its out im not realy in a rush to spend a few mount of premium time when i cant even use it up.
they losing a lot of premium time buyers this way my self included

the last time i used 1 mount premium time and i wasn't able to use almost two week from it for 2 week i played as much as my time let it but it really burned me out. Then i was away for the game for a mount flushing down almost 2 week premium time so in the end it didnt worth it not with the present system.

i just wish the devs would read this tread i would love to use up some premium time before CW or the Clans
its better for PGI and for me.

I suggested a "stop" button that could be limited to maybe once a month or have the option to buy premium time and choose when it starts. I'm personally holding all of mine until the holidays when I'll have nothing but free time to maximize what I get from it

Yea, I wish there was a start / stop button because it ticks off when I am sleeping and at work. And of course on vacation.

I don't think it should be a start stop. That just drains the "need" and "want" of buying premium time. I bought a month but that will last me a year since I only play on weekends. For those cases buy a day or two. But in the case of "life happens" if I just bought 30 days of premium time and after day 2 my dog dies and I have to go out of town for funeral services for a week, it would be nice to have the option to stop it once while I was gone so I didn't just "waste" it

That'd be nice, but way too customer friendly. ^^ Never going to happen.

Come on man, check the cynicism at the door. This IS how ideas get implemented. I know it's easy to say "PGI doesn't care" but realistically they do. They may not be the best communicators and their managerial skills leave a bit to be desired but this is their paycheck. They want the game to succeed even more than we do

And what is the result? I'd be very interested in whether premium time sales did go up or down since they changed the income. I for one don't like when incentive turns into pressure. I'd like to buy premium because I like it, not because I need it.

Instead of asking me for my money it feels as if they demand my money. The end result is that they don't get it. So much for their paycheks.

Soooooooooooo....

If you felt like you didn't HAVE to buy it, you would, but since it seems like it is needed to push through a mech collection faster you don't want it.........

You do realize how contradicting that is right?

Not really, if you see it as a form of protest. :D The grind without premium is currently close to unbearable in my honest opinion. Thus I don't buy premium to protest against this.

(I stopped buying premium many months ago, but currently don't play at all, since a month or so.)

I don't mind it too much as is, but I wouldn't mind if they switched to a gameplay hourly rate instead. Real life forces me to take breaks quite often, so I'd love it if my premium didn't run out when I get forced out of town for work for a week or two.

Well that makes a LITTLE more sense as to doing it, but the reason behind it still confuses me.

You won't buy it because you feel like you need it (which, in my opinion, is the perfect reason to buy it) but if you felt no need to buy it then you would.

Before, when Premium was a convenience, it felt like a good way to speed up the game. Now, as it (imho) became a necessity, it feels like it makes the game bearable. I wont pay for something like this. PGI either makes the game enjoyable for all or they have to live with the fact that people leave to quit the unending grind.

Ok, I get what you're saying now. I just don't think it's that bad. I play and make money. I can buy mechs within a day or two of casual play 1-2 hours over the course of 2-3 days without premium time. I haven't even started the timer on my founers premium because I've just never felt I needed to.

Who can afford to purchase a whole year of premium time at once? The over-30-working-family-fathers or the under-18-i-don't-have-a-job-mummy-please-get-me-this-kiddies? And now the trick-question: who has the time to use the 1-year-premium-package? Right, it's other way round. That does not make sense. Give the working adults the possibility to buy premium in packages with a discount and use it day by day.
