Considering the datalink capabilities already implemented in the game, can the radar display (maybe by flashing the arrow symbol) when a friendly unit takes damage?

This would help PUGs TREMENDOUSLY. Say, you see on your radar a group of 3 friendlies working an area not far away. You (currently) don't know if they're just defending an area, or battling against an enemy lance covered by an ECM.

I think it needs to be a built-in feature, or at the very least a module.

Good idea. Also, another possible function to make the Command Console useful.

Maybe implemented as a radar circular pulse that represents "enemy engagement".

That's a separate thing, but yeah, that would be nice too.

My suggestion is the equivalent of VoiP'ing "hey, i'm getting shot at"... That'd be great...

Yes 100%. This is a great idea and could be implemented as an additional Module. If done this way it could include a number of new functions such as the one suggested by Stffteysire above as well as the original idea and the Command Console. It may be possible to introduce a colour coding system that would complement the traditional blue and red to indicate tasking such as Defend, Assault, Cap, Recon Area, Reinforce etc.

Module or no module, this HAS to be a feature.

Logically, the datalink currently provides friendly position and enemy position. Taking damage, friend or foe, seems in line with data already provided to you.

PUGs need something to level the field. This should be a starting point.
