I would really love to have a grand strategy game along the lines of Endless Space. I think it would be a fantastic. You could also have elements of politics and royal family unions etc like Europa Universallis. I Would LOVE a game like that.
Anyone else?

So in other words you want a computer version of the old Succession Wars game. That could be very cool

considering how many weapons most mechs have this would be difficult. would be like sins of a solar empire with mechs.

Yeah, I think the succession wars would be cool... Sins of a Solar Empire would be an interesting model, but the emphasis would not be on the ship combat, but on the land wars with mechs. Of course you could not have the level of complexity for the mechs we would like but you could have some general items to build in factories like mech chassis etc. You could chose which chassis to build, you would have a whole armies with tanks, infantry, aerospace fighters etc these would be semi-animated battles that you have some basic control, but conquering worlds would be the main goal and managing resources.

reason i used Sins as a model is that most of the ships there have multiple guns. mechs have multiple guns. most RTSes i know have 1 weapon per unit, maybe 2 that you switch between.

I would think this is certainly doable.
