Not using them at all. SImply because I won't go for macros because I feel they are cheating but I cannot manage the jam without them either. AC5 in my hands does the excact same but with a ton less and without a fear of jamming.

I think they could be made a burst fire weapon, but considering they are balanced in the hands of those who are better at using them they are fine.

As things stand now there is no reason to macro them. If you're gonna macro them, run standard AC5s. You take UAC5s if you want superior DPS and can spare the weight and space. You get that increase by double-firing, and you still beat out standards even with a 20% jam rate. UAC5 macros have no place now (which was likely a large part of PGI's thinking with the last rounds of UAC5 tweaks), and I'm glad of it.

The UAC needs one and only one change: Not jamming on its first shot. Its ridiculous.

If the AC 2 wouldn't be the fast firing gun - leaving no place for the UAC 2 to settle.
I would say make it only about damage and RoF.
For example in BattleSpace / Force a UAC 5 deals 8 damage
So instead of a double tap each 1.5 sec with chance of jamming:

what about a shot every 0.4sec for 2 dmg.
While that is not possible what about 4dmg each 0.8 seconds

Ok the RoF for the AC 2 has to be nerfed to 1 second (but maybe only 0.5 heat)

At least I could say that there is much room for tweaking all kind of ballistic weapons - if PGI is able to leave the TT values at there own - and stop using TT heat and damage values for those kind of weapons - (while all other weapons were allready changed)

Simple solution? Put the CD timer back to where it was before, it shouldn't be the same as a standard AC/5 while using an extra slot and an extra ton. The biggest other problem is that PGI went out of canon by increasing the ammo to 25 rounds per ton. Ultra Autocannon's have always had less ammo per ton then their standard Autocannon brethren.

Due to the current jam rate is there really any point to them.

Should the jam rate increase as heat does?

They shouldn't jame after first few rounds.

The more you fire the hotter it gets, like the flamers? Also make it cook of the ammo in the same place?

The only way multiple UAC/5s could be made better is if they jammed your opponents weapons too.

If it killed everything it hits when I use it but jams when anyone else tries.

Never jamming on the first shot is probably the single change that needs to be made.

^This. And that's a bug, I believe.

Really, every A/C currently has a role. What other weapon class can say that? Leave 'em be.
