1 Why should i be a good player and searching for the best setup ? It only makes me climbing the ELO so i will be again an average player. Its is like those MMORPG, where you gain XP and loot better stuff... just for fighting harder things... Do the relative maths, you win something and loose it in the same time ! Pointless if you ask me. If i move for something, it must give me a real advantage.

-> I prefer no ELO, so there is reward being good: k/d & w/l ratio over 2-3 and more. That's why, from time to time, i play stupid setups, for FUN and for "cooling down" my ranking. Then, i play again my best mechs and i have "lulz" again.

2 Why should i grind for every mech when you can only play one at the time (of course) and can't select the right setup before landing ?

-> I used to have 20 and so mechs. You tell me variety, i answer they are all the same, except a few. I sold most of them, Im just keeping the cheesy builds and some Lolilol loadouts. I wont buy anything more in Cbills, except for countering a nerf / taking adavantage of a buff. Of course nothing in real money until CW and vapor things becomes real.

3 Now, because i don't care about grinding and winning, why whould i care about boring cap and stuff ?

-> i never cap, i just want to kill. If we loose on cap, i dont care. If we win, i dont care either: it is just money/xp i dont use anymore. I just want fun.To be honest, allies falling back when your base is being caped is a brainless tactic but working perferctly on pick up games. Anyway, in the end of a game, if there is a running spyder (whatever side) i just disconnect. I disconnect sometime too when i'm on alpine peak with a slow, short ranged mech. It's "non legit" ? Woooo i'm scared. I wont spend time in a walking simulator, i just switch to another mech... If only we could choose mech before dropping, i wont do that...

4 Because i don't have to grind, i just kill the MWO client when it takes too long to find a game, then i reconnect. The mech is locked but i just don't care since i play only 3-4 of them. I'm smiling thinking somewhere, a team is oneshorted.

-> if the matchmaker were a little bit faster, i wont do that.

----------------

Yup, i m gone cynical. I dont have time (and money) to spend in a game that can be boring because of misdesigned metagame mechanics... But MWO is still fun, so i play it... Well, you know, Eve online will have the winter expansion released... There is no rule and no "ELO" in that game, when you loose your ship, you loose it for real ! When youre good, the is no {Scrap} rule that put you against only the better players. Its just as fun as Hell, love it =)

I think MWO will die in december. I would be happy if im wrong.

This.

Sounds like it's time for OP to take a break from the game until UI 2.0 is released. Maybe the time away will reduce the douchenozzle-ness.

My only question for this is, what do you think UI 2.0 will offer a player like this? What do you think it will do to enhance gameplay? You do realize it is just a UI... just saying

What is this, i don't even..
Really, i have seen MANY things on game forums. I have seen alot on this forum. But this just tops it all.
Wow. Really. I'm trying to say something, but i just can't find words.
The game is fubar because it has a system that (atleast tries) to prevent guys from roflstomping noobs? That makes it fubar? Seriously?
I'm generally never offensive on internet forums (and in general), but please bear with me: This is one of the most stupid things i have ever read.

lol 2-3 KDR W/L, most decent players have that or better now within Elo.

Without Elo it's back to the real PUGstomping with KDRs and W/L of 10s for all good players.

I played Eve online a lot. Everywhere is a pvp zone, there is no safe zone. No Elo, nothing like this, just noobzone where beginners are helped.

Out of that, you'd better be good, if not, your are "crushed like an insect" in deep space. It is merciless because when you loose your ship, it is destroyed for real. It's like you must buy your mech every time you loose it. But ! When you manage to be strong enough, the reward is great. I like that. There is a raw challenge, without build-in rules. I like that.

With ELO, where is the reward ? The better you play, the harder is the game. Its like you manage to have a +1 bonus and in the same time the game put you a -1 penalty. WTF? Every thing you can do leads you to a statuquo result. You see the big picture now ?

Anyway, ELO will be a problem in CW. If the teams are balanced with ELO, How community warfare will work !? The players in the factions will have w/l ratio around 1 so the factions will have the same, so... There will never be any winner. See ?!

Try to think out of the box.

Yes,i need to take a break.

Think about the bigs goals beyond winning or loosing a game in MWO and you will see that there is a huge lack of ... i don't know, a feeling of pointless.

I hope CW will fix this, so winning or loosing will mean something... But as i said CW + ELO = WTF ?

PS: please don't insult. You can say things without offense.

Get to high Elo, and you consistently get to play against the best players the game has to offer. All this stomping noobs is a waste of time.

Secondly every good player is well beyond a W/L of 1 even with Elo.

In fact most good players love the idea of playing against the best players in the game, the main gripe people have with the match maker is that they sometimes see scrub players in their matches. Or conversely see evilpremades or solid A rank players rolling them.

Besides we have played the game for half a year without Elo and just a random match maker, and part of that was with full 8 man premades in the regular queue, and it sucked ***. You could premade up with even just decent nonscrub to half decent players and go 90% W/L and only ever lose to full 8 man DDC tryhards.

It was a joke.

Glad someone finds it fun.

I guess forum fighting is much more fun than the game - I know I enjoy it more.

Will take a look. Dont like space op (i really hate starwars and mass effect stuff), i prefer hard science. Not sure i 'll like star citizen universe with "humanoid rubber face english speaking aliens".

I'm looking at that instead:

http://blackbirdinteractive.com/games/

Will be a MMORTS free to play by:
- homeworld game designers
- gearbox editors

Seems to be interesting.

The artwork and universe is just <3 <3 <3

UI 2.0 is the answer to everything, you see.
