The ShadowHawks are a nice blend of ballistics, energy, and missiles... with Jump Jets. Although they all differ only by the number of hardpoints on each variant, rather than by having great differences in their hardpoints like the Hunchback Line of Mechs, you can still set them up in a good variety of ways. Just don't go looking for ShadowHawk Energy Boats... they all are meant to utilize ammo of some sort to achieve a full arsenal of firepower.
They don't completely out-class other Mediums in every way, either. The Hunchbacks have much greater maneuverability, the Centurions have better brawling/zombie survival, the Trebuchets have more energy hardpoints to support their missile weapons, and the BlackJacks can mount XL engines with an AC/20 (which the Shadow Hawk cannot).
Overall, I think the ShadowHawk variants are Jacks of all Trades instead of being resigned to any specific roles.

Agreed, the JJs really contribute the hunchbacks maneuverability.
