PGI is going to be adding AI guns protecting bases in the next 2 months. Small lasers, MG's, and equiped with AMS.

Looking at the recent developer post...(it is at the bottom).

http://mwomercs.com/...0089-breakdown/

I for one am going to welcome this, as playing Assault nearly alwasy involves a few lights capping your base, getting in the way of having a fun shooting game.

But for me the reason I am posting this in the mech loadout forum is that I hope these AI "turrets" are actually going to look like men operating a tripod mounted small laser or MG ringed in sandbags.

If that is the case, and I hope it is, then I want these AI turrets to take extra damage from MG's, small lasers, small pulse lasers, and especially Flamers. I think this could be an opportunity to give those weapons more of a role on the battlefield.

Also, this opens up the possibility for a new game mode of attack and defend, where one faction has a flag, and a bunch of AI emplacements around it, but have fewer players than the attacking team who has a side of the map that they can "run out of bounds" that doesn't count as a death, but a retreat aka not a death.

I will enjoy it. I am hoping for eventual NPC tanks and such as well. Make the battles feel more alive.

My guess is they will appear like larger AMS dispensers. Something similar to a gatling gun on a ship. Just a guess.

Yes! Finally something that make base capping more challenging. I hope they add other models like Large Laser, SRM, LRM, Calliope Turret, etc.

They should have LOTS of SSRMs to force people to take them out at range.

And all the while, there should be a "base under attack" message- both in text and in the form of a BB announcement- CONSTANT ones.

Also, bring back knockdown.

Basically, poop on light mechs. Please :)? When I see them, I just want to squish them, like Silverfish.
