I think that anyone who purchased this "upgrade" should get their cbills back, and the upgrade itself should either be removed from the game or turned into something far more useful (increased duration/team recycle on strikes/SOMETHING!)

Currently speaking, the Accuracy upgrade is useless because:
  • A LARGER AOE is better with Strikes, as you're trying to splash a group of 'mechs, not a single one!
  • On that note, single mechs are going to move/avoid Strikes in all but the unluckiest of cases, making the narrow AOE even less effective!
  • It takes a module slot preventing you from carrying a second kind of strike or other module, all of which are way more valuable!
So to back up.. you have to pay tons of GXP and Cbills for an accuracy upgrade that ties up a module slot so you can get moderately better damage on one target, when odds are you will not be able to hit that target due to the reduced AoE?

Now, I've posted many threads on the Strikes and I really like where they are at. But I'm tired of telling every new pilot "Make sure to buy the upgrades.. just not the accuracy upgrade!" It's a downgrade you have to pay through the nose for, in both cbills and occupied module slots.

Let's either see it turned into something useful, or just plain axed. The strikes are great without it.

Agreed. I think the reduced firing delay makes the most sense right now. And remove the module, although that doesn't bother me quite so much as long as it actually does something useful.

yo I agree with you man!

I made the mistake of buying the "upgrade" with GXP, thinking my air strikes would get the -20% radius bonus.... i realized in mechlabs module.... IT REQUIRED ANOTHER MODULE SLOT TO GAIN SAID BENEFIT!

I know thats my bad for not totally understanding it BEFORE buying it, but damn it just is a WASTE and NOT WORTH having in this game! lol

I'm with the bigger AoE. I don't think a refund is necessary, just an improvement pass.
Given that over 6 months was spent to improve it, I hope this happens sooner than later. as it is an effectiveness downgrade.

Given they'd improved these for the last few patches, I am really hoping they go the extra mile and improve the last black mark on them!

The modules point is to concentrate damage in a more confined area. This makes it more likely that a mech in the radius will get a direct hit, and or get overlap from splash damage from multiple strikes.

Unfortunately there are a few things preventing this module from being useful. It take up a valuable module slot that could be used for some thing else. Taking up a second module slot for a one use consumable is just not worth it. The big red smoke plume that telegraphs the strike allows the target to simply step away from the area, which makes the whole system all but pointless except for very limited situations.

Make the accuracy module a change to artillery strike itself. It should not take a module slot. Also remove the red smoke marker, because that is just stupid.

I cannot vote for any choice in the pole. They are either bad, or the crying of a player who things they are owed some thing they are not. Demanding a refund for the module is just childish. You will earn the C-bills and GXP again. Makes me think the OP has also demanded a refund for seismic sensors because it no longer acts as a legal wall hack.

I was lucky enough to avoid it myself, so I am not asking on my behalf.

I'm saying that if you are going to put something worthless in the game, refund people or fix it. It'd be like if they sold Command Consoles for 20,000 GXP.

Have you considered aiming the strike behind a target? A smaller radius to deal more damage to single targets seems incredibly useful to me as long as you can make sure the target doesn't see the smoke.

I vote Purple Monkey Guest Pool.....

On a more serious note:
I am still waiting till I can do the Consumables for Cbills....

Because until then there is a large portion of the forums I cannot justly comment on. :(

No refund will happen, but the unclear descrtiption should really be fixed. What looks like a module upgrade (similar to what you get for other consumables), shows up as another module. Who did really expect that when buying the upgrade? Honestly now.
