Anyone who runs on a laptop with the NVIDIA Optimus technology is probably quite familiar with the complete nightmare it can be to get certain games running on the NVIDIA GPU instead of the standard integrated, especially with laptops that don't enable a forced option in the BIOS.

Until I finally discovered a solution today, I had been having issues with MWO only running on the Integrated graphics and giving me terrible performance when I should have been running at a smooth 60 fps with what I've got under the hood. After doing some research and taking one simple step, I noticed a dramatic difference. Even after raising my graphical settings, I went from a stuttery and laggy 30 fps to a smooth 60.

1) Go into your NVIDIA Control Panel
2) Go to Manage 3D Settings, then Program Settings.
3) Select mechwarrioronline.exe
3) Uncheck show only programs found on this computer
4) Scroll up one program to mwoclient.exe
5) Ensure that it is set to High Performance NVIDIA Processor
6) Go into the specific options and ensure that CUDA - GPUs is set to ALL by selecting Use Specific Processor -> Nvidia GPU

It should look like this when you're done. The issue was that without accessing all programs and changing the settings for mwoclient as well, it was only forcing the NVIDIA card on the launcher, and not in actual games.

Hope this helps my fellow Optimus users. Happy hunting!
