I would really like a module for my light mechs which reduce fall damage. It's sad to always take alot of damage to the legs simply from terrain before actually entering combat.
I know that if you pilot more carefully you can avoid much of this, but then the module would simply enable me to push the limit of how far I can go before I take damage.

that, or some sort of upgrade that increases internal structure strength of the legs so that they can resist more fall damage.

A lot of damage?
I think the fall damage is pretty ridicolous. It should be increased actually.

The module you ask for is called "Jump Jets". Learn to save some for the drop.

In that case a module would still be fine, but perhaps in your oppinion, be useless. But some of us would gladly pay GXP for it.

Not all mechs can equip jump jets. On those that can, I do, and use them for that purpose.

If you do not have jump jets, learn the maps so that you do not fall as often. You are not required to take the straight route.

No I am not. Already covered that in the original post. But if this module enables me to take a more straight route and thus get there faster, I'll buy it.

In my commando, when trying to run away from enemies, I will turn my torso so that I can shield myself with my arms, meaning I can't be looking exactly where I'm running and so tend to run up and off inclines, especially in terra therma so I damage my legs. If all lights could have JJs the module would have no purpose, but I like commandos so I'd buy that module for them for certain.

Maybe am i dumb but when i see some 80 tons Victors falling from 70m-tall-rock on Tourmaline taking fewer leg damages than what a medium laser do, i always think that falling damages should be really reworked...
But hell: Yeah, screw gravity! Reduce it even more, that totaly make sense...
More seriously, if they end up making falls more realistic (and i certainly hope they will, along with collision), then yes, why not.
Just, we should receive damages first, before nerfing them with a module, don't you think?
