Do we get xp/c-bills if we drop out of game after a death?

Thanks in advance,
McJR

You get credit for your actions up to the point you've disconned, and I assume win/loss results at the end of the match. Otherwise I don't know all the specifics, since the only time I quit from a game after death, is when I'm done gaming for the day anyway. :)

Yes.

But any enemy mechs that you've shot and not killed, but get killed by team mates later, after you've died and disco'd, you will miss the rewards for the assist.

As long as you have "earned" anything, you will receive those rewards whether you stay or leave after death. If you load in, then don't do anything, and DC, you receive nothing.

There are benefits to both sides. If you quit and launch with a new mech, you will likely earn more c-bills overall. However, if you know you did a lot of damage to the enemy, hanging around can net you more XP with that mech.

Also, spectating is a good way to see other builds in action. Or if you happen to drop with someone you know is a great pilot, spectating them can be a blast. Would love to drop with scJazz for example. Had my assets returned to me via FedEx after dropping against him a few times, so would love the opportunity to shadow him (preferably alive, but dead works too) :)

Please note: The above posts are true if it is assumed you are actually playing. DC Farming won't work with this strategy. You'll be identified by a Player like me or IGP and get spanked really really hard!

Everybody knows Jazz just stands in the back and lurms...

How boring!

:)

Just kidding Jazz.

Only dropped against him once in recent memory, and his team wiped the floor with us.

:P

You can ruin Jazz's day by bringing 5 NARCs on a Stalker. It's totally effective! (This, btw, is a joke and sarcasm. It is not effective.)

(Well it's effective in ruining his day. But not against enemies. Actually I noticed last night that marking a second target with NARC seems to destroy your first NARC instantly. At least so it appeared. So multi-narc is totally pointless.)

You get credit for what you've done until the point of leaving the match (meaning you could loose kill assists if you disconnect, I think).

If you're solo dropping you'll make much more money hopping from 'mech to 'mech as quickly as possible and won't get bored either (though watching others play brings new tactics).

Could anyone of the above posters actually quote where their information is coming from, other than forum hearsay?

After the C-bill nerf PGI quoted average earnings, and stated that running 2 mechs will "double" those earnings. This statement (which i couldn't find) leads me to believe that earnings wouldn't be influenced by spectating a match.

Has anyone ran extensive tests? Last week i observed my income from a match (yes yes sample size) i hadn't gotten any income from when i died. Quit immediately and netted 58k from it. Could be victory + salvage, could be loss + assists.

I'm not farming I play with a few different groups, so if one asks me to join them i would fight to death and then leave. Just wandering if I was getting the points.

I don't have links off the top of my head, but it's not just hearsay or some guy ran tests etc. The devs have said that when you discon, you get no further XP/Cbill gains other than what you have already earned. One of the devs (Brian or Paul?) is the one that said discon can make you more money, which is true since assists are not going to give you huge bonuses etc. So better to just start a new match, especially if you got ganked early on.
