Commandos, despite lacking in JJs, can actually climb a lot of places that are normally accessible by JJs (of course, nothing straight up, but certain sloped hills). They almost have the same movement profile as prior to the movement changes.

For instance, they are able to climb the hill tower on Forest Colony and I believe they can climb that JJ-favored passage on Alpine from the NE base. It's amazing what you can climb with them.
