I've been searching, but cannot find a definitive answer anywhere. Do the two UAV upgrades stack together? (UAV upgrade increases range by 25% and Improved UAV increases active time by 15sec). If I purchase both, would my UAV have 300m range for 60sec?

The Improved UAV upgrades the UAV to the same duration as the "Advanced UAV". Once purchased for 15k GXP, normal UAV and Advanced UAV are identical in function.
The UAV Upgrade applies to all types of UAVs.

Many thanks for the info!
Just wanted to make sure I did not waste 15k GXP to exchange one upgrade for another.

Yep!
The UAV is expensive to run in PUGs but is an XP making machine, so I highly endorse picking it up - in particular if you are new. Putting one up on a camping crowd can net you, literally, hundreds of extra XP per match. It's your best friend for ranking 'mechs.

Just to super-clarify... You don't have to equip a second module for the upgrade do you? It sure looks like not, but that's how the "accuracy" modules work for the strikes. TIA.

No, it's more like the mech skill trees. It's an unlock that enhances an existing module.

Indeed. I can vouch for this having run UAVs almost non stop to assist with leveling mechs since they were given the XP bonuses. Having a BAP and TAG for the C-ECM and TAG assists also will help power the xp in addition to any spotting/kill assists and savior/defensive kill assists you get.
