are there any plans for the future for a planet capture mode. where being in a house or a merc unit actually means something. or maybe theres a clan invasion mode coming. thanks

that´s what we all are waiting for currently... and like forever tbh  It´s actually the maingoal for MWO right now, so yea... it will come, and hopefully (given the time PGI needs to bring it) it will be good :)

my prediction is, that MWO will rise or fall with Community Warfare (Planetary Conquest)

Yes, community warfare. The whole inner sphere will be our playground.
When?
Soon

Planetary conquest won't be until the third stage of CW, so it's going to be a while. It would only be Soon™ in continental drift or glacier migration terms. :)

How big those planets will be? I mean can you get lost while going from city to city? :)

Since this is all completely hypothetical, the planets can be as big as you can imagine them to be.

eh, think on a much smaller scale. you probably wont be able to travese the palanet at all. There will be a few battles and then a color on a map of the inner sphere will change.

Pretty much this, expect to be fighting on maps of a very similar nature to what we currently fight on during matches.. you won't be free roaming across planets in your 'mech.

The maps we have are the maps you'll be fighting on. You won't actually drop on a planet and walk around. When you drop on a planet you'll actually be dropping into a match.

At least I hope those are going to be bigger maps at least the size of alpine peaks.

I'm not 100% positive but I THINK I've read where the devs have talked about bigger maps

I'm all for big maps because they give more tactics to the game and less mindless brawls add good objectives and 13th commander seat and they get to play mechcommander with real mech pilots.

Silly vision I know ^_^

they specifically said they´ll keep on producing maps with diverse sizes...so we´ll get new big maps as well as small skirmish maps...

i really hope PGI refuses from producing too many small maps, especially for 12vs12 sized matches...

The last 4-5 maps have all been on the large side (likely when they decided 12v12 was coming) - I doubt we'll get any new maps as small as river city or forest colony.

does anybody know what the old MBPT3025 interface looked like i didnt have internet connection at the time, but knew about it. we should also ask that igp let the community help with map making ect. anything that will speed the production of this up would help a lot. anyway just my 2 cents

Think you might have something different in mind then what is actually planned. From what the devs have said there will be no "huge" map that we all fight it out on, rather battles (on existing maps) will contribute to the conquest of a given planet.

You get to vote on the map that you fight on and winning contributes a certain amount:

Fight on Crimson Strait, +8
Fight on Alpine Meadows +10
Fight on Mordor +15

When your total reaches 100 you own the planet and the front shifts.

Please watch this:
