[Staffection]

I'm new to MWO and trying to do the tutorial so I know how to play. But the first thing the tutorial wants me to do is press f4 to switch into 1st person mode. This is where I run into a problem. When I press f4 a female voice says "system offline" and the mech just kinda squats and does nothing until I press f4 again. I really want to get into the game but this isn't helping me at all and is very discouraging. Somebody please help!

Try going into your key mapping menu in the mechlab (lower left corner - options).

It sounds like f4 has been somehow remapped to power down/power up..

Also, make sure your keyboard has the function keys enabled. I had this issue, but my MS keyboard let me disable the F keys for special keyboard instructions instead (not sure why).
