Hi Admins, if you don't mind and are actually reading this:

Can you please move this to "Upcoming Features" where it belongs. Didn't find any means to do this by myself.

I have the opposite opinion Darth. I always thought the Clan Omnis were the Ugly Mechs compared to the Inner Sphere's. Then again, I got into the Universe prior to the Clans, so I may be Jaded. ;)

too many people came into the game through MW2, or MW4 (less it seems through 3, oddly). So unfortunately, bias is to be expected as they were heavily Clan oriented. Not everyone actually gets that these ARE the salt of the earth mechs for MW and Battletech.

My first experience was Mechwarrior 2. For the longest time I didn't even know the Inner Sphere even had different Houses let alone an army. I just assumed...

2 Clans (Wolf and Jade Falcon) racing to Terra (Earth), fighting for the destiny of the human race.
Wolf - Warden (Good guys): Protectors and Guardians of humanity
Jade Falcon - Crusader (Bad Guys) Conquerors and Enslavers of humanity

Either clan WAS going to get to Terra, you decided the fate of mankind.

The Innersphere was just the location of the planets where the Clans fought.

Yea, a bit different than the reality of the BT Universe. MW2 was just so Clan-centric, that nothing else was discussed.

Not until the Battletech Cartoon and MechWarrior 3 and MechCommander did I start to get a grasp on the Battletech Universe as a whole.

P.S. When I first saw Clan mechs without Clan names, that was a bit confusing (Timberwolf vs. Madcat).

Put them all in MWO it would be great but im not going to buy 50 million mech bays to do it.In fact I think the mech bays should be FREE ow did I say a bad word? Or you should be able to buy mech bays with Cbills like 500,000 each.

Urbanmech, Dervish, Grashopper, King Crab, Summoner & Stormcrow.

I was seriously tempted to check every box because that's what I usually do when polls allow you to choose multiple options...

All of you who are voting for slow lights and mediums: you think you want these mechs, but you really do not.

The Urbanmech and Panther aren't even really good in battletech, but when you play with canon mechs how bad they are is partially disguised by how bad all the other mechs are.

In MWO they'd be even more useless. If Urbies were good, then you'd see people running slow spiders with autocannons as actual mechs rather than as infrequent jokes.

The Panther is decent in TT. For a light, it packs a lot of punch and has a lot of range. The Urbanmech is mostly a joke, but I've given it a try a few times, and in any terrain that restricts line of sight it does ok (especially woods).

However, I don't think either would be a good match for MWO.

Inner Sphere Mechs:
Urbanmech - I guess it's time for this mech,*puts on sunglasses* to take out the trash.
Flea - Please hurry with MASC, It doesn't feel right to have one mech being kept in the shadows for so long.
Banshee - We seriously need a 95 tonner, pronto
Zeus - We need a Steiner Iconic mech for Community Warfare (Hesperus II - Defiance Industries)
Hatamoto-Chi - We need a Kurita Iconic mech for Community Warfare (Luthien - Luthien Armor Works)

Clans:
Fire Moth - Makes a pretty good scout mech
Timber Wolf(Mad Cat) - It's everybody's favorite Clan mech, why not?
Summoner(Thor) - It's my personal favorite mech

That's the conventional wisdom, but it's actually not really true. The urbanmech always generates disadvantageous hit numbers when it moves by any mode. Its AC10 also has decent range compared to the armaments of similarly-valued mechs. Because of flippable arms and armor distribution that is not heavily front-biased, you don't gain much advantage by getting behind it.

The Urbie is best parked on top of a hill, turret-style.

It is also usable as a semi-long range support mech. The problem with the Urbie is that anything 45 tons or up will eat it for breakfast. Against other Succession War era stock lights you can take the trade-off of being stationary, as that 10 point hit will sheer limbs off. The return fire is usually a few 2 to 5 point pings scattered across your armor, which the Urbie can take.

It isn't about what is good sometimes. Paul said we "would never have them" so naturally we want them lol.

Given that we have a mechlab, anything can be 'decent'.

Also, I don't listen to clanner opinions about IS mechs :( :D.

As I authored that thread I think it's obvious what I want and when I want it.

Well I picked one light and a couple for each other category. With complete customisation all the variety of mechs become very similar, only the looks separate them. An Axman and Hatchetman could be pretty much the same build for example.

Clan mechs are built as functional rather than how they look so tend to be ugly compared to IS ones.
Surprised we didn't have a few more Star League ones, Shootist for example is one I'd quite like.

Reminds me of a Marauder on steroids. So, would it glow red in the game so you could see it across the map like the Atlas Eyes of old?
