During the clan invasion of 3050, what would a typical clan invasion look like?
How would the clans issue a trial? Did they consistently issue trials? If so, did they issue them at the jump point or when the dropships were ready to land?
How did they handle it when a spheroid responded with "What the **** are you talking about?" How did the clanners respond if the planetary government ignored them?
After the local defenders were defeated, how would the clan conquerors actually try to rule the planet? Did the same force that conquered the planet also garrison it? Assuming they survived, how did the clanners handle the previous planetary nobility?

You can have a nice trip about the early days of the Clan Invasion - when you buy the short novels Onslaught
http://www.battlecor...roducts_id=3234
The first encounters - the invading forces (they already know a lot about IS Warfare during there campaign through the periphery)
The Smoke Jags were victims of a trap - by a pirate king
The Wolves eliminated Grimms Kingdom (facing up to 3 regiments of Mechs)
The JFs eliminated Ryan (with 3 batallions of good troops, and they had some other important battles)
They will always call a Batchtall - but never expect that they get an answer.
They will drop right on the top of the defending forces - if possible - give the defenders no time to respond.
If they answer the call or not didn't matter - with ComStar delivering informations about the planet - they already know everything about the defending forces.
How the conquered planet is handled depends on the Clan - for example you hardly will recognize any change when a planet changes its ruler - when you are some where far away from the battlefields.
The Ghost Bears for example - seldom removed the rulers - so that there was a smooth transition.
Other worlds- for example with units that gone dark or fight a guerrilla war - would feel the change (mostly when your world was conquered by JadeFalcons or Smoke Jaguars)

when batchalls were given varies.. usually it was as the dropships burned in towards the planet. the format was roughly..
"I am [rank] [name], commander of the [clan and/or unit]. with what do you defend this world?" in interclan trials, replace "with what do you defend this world" with "i declare a trial of [type]" and then provide what and why.
the response is supposed to include info on the units you chose to employ for defense, and where you will meet them. the IS often said "everything we've got".. and left out the place, making anywhere fair game. if the planet ignored them, it was assumed to be an automatic "everything and anywhere".. with the added bit that the forces were assumed to be dezgra, not worthy of honor. though after a bit the clans started assuming that of all IS troops even if they did respond.
as for controlling the planet.. it varied a lot based on the clan in question. the Wolves used a rather 'hands off' stance, letting the locals function, only disarmed, as normal. the bear's tried to intergrate their holdings. the falcons tried to impose homeworlds society on the locals with carrot and stick tactics, and the Jaguars did the same as the falcons, only theirs was less carrot and stick and more "the beatings will continue till morale improves"..
the nobles of the worlds usually were disarmed and disenfanchised.. unless they were collaborators. of course, few of them were actually on world after the clans arrived.. they tended to flee the moment they heard the clans were coming.
