returning CB tester I left about a year ago the cryo engine change killed my FPS so with a new vid card I put my toe back into the water. I have the orignal bays and 3 mechs founders hunchie hunchie sp and a caterpha (sp?) my pilot has almost no training in the heavy line but a pile in the med,I don't want to just play the hunchies I need some verity . my question should I strip and sell the hevay and stay playing in the med group or keep it and expand to the heavys. CB are low 2m. ?

You should probably keep it. When you sell mechs youll realise you want it later. My vote is expand to heavy mechs. Cataphracts are solid.

Someone mention buying Shadowhawks so I can like your post.

Expand to Shadowhawks (55T med), followed by Cataphracts (70T heavy) and Jaeger (65T heavy) in that order.

Not sure which Cataphract you have. 1X? 2X? 4X? 3D? The only 'phract I can't get behind is the 2X, the tube restrictions on the left arm missiles just kills it. (I've seen people run twin LRM15s in that arm, and I'm like, WHY?!)
Anyway, a few Cataphract build ideas.
1X - Use this myself. The PPCs give you good range, and the AC20 works as a nice "Get the hell away from me!"-gun. In the area where the optimum ranges overlap the combination is devastating.
2X - Never tried a 2X, so this is pure conjecture at work, but it looks solid.
4X - The 4X is plagued by massive speed issues, as it's engine is capped at a lowly 255. Still, this thing will eat people if they're dumb enough to ignore it. If you don't want to shell out for the XL engine, you could drop down to quad AC2s, but that could create overheating issues.
3D - This is not really a great load out, and retains the stock engine, but it does ok. The Gauss requires a lot of practice to get used to (it was changed to a hold to charge/release to fire system a month or two back).
I advise against selling your mechs. If you have a little cash to throw at the game, grab some MC and use it for more mech bays. 7 bucks nets you enough for 4 more bays with a little left over for XP -> GXP conversion or the fancy versions of a couple expendables.

Play what you like! Try out the trial mechs, sometimes they are even good builds.
I've grabbed chassis from all classes, its fun to pilot different style mechs often.

DO NOT SELL CATAPHRACTS.
They're probably the best heavies. The Shad is up their for mediums, thoguh if you've got time, it may be good to see how the Griffin and Wolverine are before making that call.
I wouldn't reccomend selling any mech really as you're only getting half back what you paid in, so it's not a good deal.
