I don't think weight difference itself is the main problem, but more of players not adapting to the teams composition, and players not playing their mech correct. Especially the new spawn points have created alot of opportunities for lighter/faster teams to within seconds create local superiority. Caustic Valley is the most shining example (with Mordor and Tourmaline close behind), you just have to push right flank to either hit the backs of those abandoned assaults spawning at Kappa or cut of the ones spawning at Epsilon. Maybe no early kills but a certain headstart damagewise. In higher ELO-brackets the lances generally sticks together until grouped up with main force, but here the delay creates other opportunities for a light team.

Also, the feel when for once beating a heavier team is making it worth losing five games against the same team...

You sort of contradict your premise at the very end there. First you say it's just a matter of people not adapting to their team composition, then you turn around and imply the light team is an underdog after all.

Aside from that, even a "light team" will usually have a few assaults sprinkled in there. Trying to move in quickly on an isolated enemy lance may involve abandoning a few assault mechs to the dust.
