(tl;dr there's not enough teamplay-in-your-face when playing PUG games)
1. Ingame chat to show the mech of the chatter
- Player X says: "I go to eps" or "need help at kappa" - would be really useful to know if it's a Jenner going for cap or a dumbass-Atlas... and I do not want to look them up in the <Tab>-list. Just display chat messages like <Player X> JR7-D: I go to eps
2. Mini-Map
- As is, the minimap is nice for close-quarters-combat, nothing more. I need to turn off rotation of the map (put it in as optional). I still do not recognize whether the red ones are heading to our base or whether they are retreating, because I cannot fiddle with the compass and minimap and normal map. Especially after a fight. Always-North-up would help. Also, north-up would help with chatting, as "left" and "right" are a bit... personal. "Enemies heading west" or "east" is definite.
- Make it zoom-able! I want to zoom out and see the complete map, so I can see where my team is going. Coordinating with PUGs can be difficult from time to time. Always on-screen position of teammates will help.
2a. No, opening the complete map is not enough.
- Even when setting the mech to 100% throttle, it will turn to 0% as soon as I pull up the map (from time to time)
- Enemies pop up on the map for a few seconds and disappear again, I cannot walk around pulling the map every few seconds just to never miss a 4-man-lance jump-tarding above a ledge.
- Orienting and mentally lining up the map (north-up, many red and blue arrows) and the minimap (the hell is north?! And where the hell are my arrows?!) is a task my brain can do in about 4 seconds. That is too long. Help me!
- The minimap is not useable as a map, it's only use is as a short-range radar. I need a map if I want teamplay with PUGs.
3. Target-Lock on teammates
- So I can see their mech loadout, e.g. there's a Catapult A1 next to me walking up front, is the CPLT a SRM or a stupid forward running LRM? No, I can't ask him, he is a PUG and will shoot me if I ask stupid questions. Also, I want to know what type of damage the giving-cover-from-behind-Stalker has.
4. Make a Spotting System Tutorial - many players need it. ECM seems to be very difficult to understand for 14-year-old PUGs. Also, a minimap with full zoom will help. Some players seem to not know why there is an enemy behind them.
5. Display the number of kills in conquest game mode, just like in assault. Again, it is quicker than <Tab> and counting.
