With CW around the corner (or around the corner that's around the corner that's around the corner
) My group has been discussing uniform colors and patterns mandatory for all of our members. Since this costs real money, I was wondering if the devs were going to have a way where we could give MC to other members. Something I thought of is a vault for the Corps. Not to store money (at least not real money...no MC bank please.) but suppose I decide I want to buy 3 sets of Vulture Chartreuse and the Mountain pattern. It would be awesome if I could take those colors, store them in a Corps vault and when a new member comes along that doesn't have the money to purchase the colors, he can borrow ours. By borrow I mean, that once the colors go into the vault they are the property of the Corps. You leave the Corps, the colors go back to the vault. Just a suggestion anyway. Could also do stuff like that with other things too.

Either that or a corp could buy a color scheme/pattern and it is available for the whole corp to use.

It's been suggested already that the merc group will be able to unlock colors and patterns for the Merc Group.
Otherwise just allow those who can't afford paints to get one of the "free" Paints when they come around. OR ask them to buy one of the cheaper Blacks.
Most Guilds will either ask you to spend the MC, or Run Solely black for your mechs.

There is a pattern called "Vulture Chartreuse"? They took chartreuse-blue, a colour that has been around since the Middle-Ages and was used for stained-glass-windows in cathedrals, and turned it into "Vulture Chartreuse"???????????

Mercenary unit members will be charged taxes on every drop and will be able to donate both MC and C-Bills to the unit. These will likely be used to purchase the pattern and colors for each unit member, as well as other unspecified unit perks. These perks (including the pattern/colors) likely only apply while they are a member of the unit and would be lost as soon as they change affiliation.

No that was my idea of a joke...there is no vulture anything...that I'm aware of.

I am really against "donating" actual MC to the merc corps. I don't like the idea of giving real money to be controlled by one or a few people. (absolute power corrupts absolutely). Which is why I suggested a vault. You could purchase items for MC (as your donation) and then "store" them in the vault. These items can then be used by members of the corps as needed, and belong solely to the corps. no one person can control them and if they leave, the equipment/items revert back to the vault.

There are plenty of people who are willing to donate real money so that others who (supposedly) cannot afford things can have them.
The problem with your idea is that you bought the stuff. What happens to the stuff that you bought when you leave the unit, beings you are simply "storing it in the vault?" Do you get it back? I'm sure there would be players clamoring for just that. Do you get to control the usage of stuff you "store" (for instance, making it so your rival in the unit cannot use it)? There would be people clamoring for that too.
If you directly donate C-Bills and MC, that is no longer a problem -- the unit purchases what it needs. I'm fairly certain the range of stuff that can be purchased in this way is severely limited. It's probably all automated anyway -- somebody joins the unit, and it deducts the amount for their pattern/colors from the unit coffers.
If you don't trust the leader(s) of your unit with your real money, don't donate any. It's that simple. Of course, then the problem is that nobody gets whatever those perks might have been.
